Hi Everyone, Hope you don't mind me adding to the mix :) I couldn't resist jumping in on this Comic Jam. I missed out on the Card one because I was so busy, but made sure I kept my eyes peeled for the next sweet one. Great subject, Cat! You're always a visionary. <img src="http://miracle.keenspace.c...

Although it only takes me 2-3 hours to do a page of Makeshift Miracle, I've rarely had the time lately. Getting done my 3 per week has been crazy, but I always seem to just squeak through and get them finished. I've got a new job and am moving across the country in the next 2-3 weeks. All the organi...

This from Joey Manley, editor of Modern Tales: Well, we're down right now. Our hosting provider shut us down for excessive bandwidth usage, even though we have plenty of money to pay them. We are buying from a reseller who is part of this community. We like him very much. He's a great guy. But we're...

Hi Everyone, I'm realizing now, after 40+ pages of sequential work on Makeshift Miracle, how hard it can be to come up with new ways to arrange panels and keep it fresh. Don't get me wrong, there are times when a standard page layout delivers the material well, but I also want to branch out with new...

Hey Everybody, I'm proud to announce that the first chapter of Makeshift Miracle is done! I wanted to structure my stories much like a comic book, so 24 pages of story = one chapter. Now that the first part's finished, I was hoping to get people's opinions of the story so far. What did you like, dis...

Here's my process, for the curious: Writing: I've got a broad idea of where the story is headed, so I usually get brainstorms of the actual page order while I'm on the train to or from work. I don't know if this even counts. I'll just opt it out. Thumbnail: I draw a half size page to set up composit...

That is extremely nice stuff... I'm really impressed.

I'm curious as to how long she works on each page. Her use of colour works really well to set the mood.

It's nice having so many pages, but having to wait until December or January for more content will be frustrating

Cool stuff.

Let's see, Story-wise, The Makeshift Miracle is my little take on anime romantic-comedy type storylines like Video Girl Ai or Kimagure Orange Road. Art-wise, I think the look of the series is influenced the most by Chris Bachalo's work on the Vertigo series "Death:The Time Of Your Life". I love the ...
