places to put online comics so people will read them

Wondering what places online comics can be put, besides a personal website of course, where they will be read... Right now I have a personal website and an account at deviant art, and i also upload stuff at myspace. I just signed up for a keenspace (or whatever they're calling it nowadays) account, ...

the "standard size" for print is 6 pt Good lord, 6pt? That's tiny! I'm amazed to hear that (though perhaps it varies depending on the font, and whether you're using all caps like in traditional comics). I do agree though, best to eyeball it and see what looks right. yeah... who knows what font is b...

the "standard size" for print is 6 pt, according to "DIGITAL PREPRESS FOR COMIC BOOKS" but that can differ with different font styles... I like to go a little bigger than that for print stuff, and WAY bigger for online stuff. but it's all relative. just play around with different sizes and see what ...

it's something that even the best web-cartoonists out there don't seem to be thinking of...

hey all this may be too late but i wanted to say that you don't need a tablet to create tapered lines, all you need to do is go to window>brush libraries> artistic sample/ then you can use the tapered brushes. i actually created my own brush set similar to those ones to draw the following http://ww...

Thanks for the info, frogtumor. Hope your medical problem gets worked out soon... Hi Tim! For a while I went through a phase where I was using Flash to turn bitmaps into vector graphics. It was a lot of fun. I've been focusing on plain old non-computer graphics recently, but I'm startin to get the h...

yeah. I'm not the greatest artist in the world, that's for sure. Still have a LOOOOONG way to go before I am even a productive cartoonist. But I have been to a four year art school and spent two years studying Japanese painting as a research student after that. So I'm pretty much familiar with non-b...

yeah, but that is a little bit different from what I'm talking about. I've been looking at stuff and studying it for years. But it was all passive. At the time I posted the first message in this thread, I actually flat out used someone else's layout and character placing for the first time. Like I s...

wow. that's really some cool stuff up there. neat. A little bit removed from the spartan topic of "what is a comic," I would PREFER to have some sort of illustration involved. Not saying that this is because comics necessarily have to have illustrations or anything. I just like illustrations. The wa...

Hey, seriously, though, wouldn't that be a cool idea to do some sort of comics jam where we make our own little avatars and just put them up? it would be like half forum half jam. people would be all like, "hey, you got your jam in my forum! No, you got your forum in my jam!!...

seriously, though, whether it is or is not a comic is a moot point. Moot, I tell you. The important thing is whether or not it has any interesting elements that can be used by cartoonists. I kind of think this conversation or discussion style of comics could be cool. Especially if the writing was re...
