A couple of links you might find useful

Lo-fi died during September 2001 for a variety of reasons, none of them very good. I still think it would rock, but it needs a hellraiser to keep everything together, and when I started at Designskolen I ceased to be that guy. -- For more info about creating MMS, don't miss <a href='http://www.forum...

Screens are getting bigger and better

You are totally correct Greg, "phones are fer listening' to; not lookin' at," - which is exactly why up until now the screens on phones have been so small. Or at least that is the way it was. For many people these days mobile phones are used just as much for sending text messages as they are for pho...

Comics on mobile phones are going to be huge

Hi everyone. I have not posted here for a long time. Design College and a new baby daughter are keeping me busy. OK, Comics for phones. Comics on phones are going to be huge. Much bigger than webcomics ever have been or will be. BUT, forget browsing on phones. Forget browsing because as of yet the n...

This is not micropayments, and is not a solution

Suggesting that this system is similar to what Scott envisioned is stretching the truth. Vtech offers a database where you can upload your comics. Vtech then charge customers for downloading your comics and give you some of the money. Everything happens at their website. The interface is not designe...

Both Google's cache and The Wayback Machine give pretty clear instructions on how to remove your sites from their archives. So if you leave your site there (after finding that it is there) then it is not a copyright infringement, because you are giving them permission implicitly by not removing it.

Is there anybody here with a huge Infinite Canvas type work that is too big to start because a way to manage and structure it is missing? I believe that a Conversant based website could be the missing link for some (depending of course upon the nature of ...

The story and artwork aren't up my alley, but the concept they are playing with is great. I liked it. In particular I enjoyed the way the ambient background noise changing in relation to the panel being viewed. Also, the ability to zoom into a panel and get much more detail than possible in the over...

The said "pre-programmed infinite canvas" doesn't exist. So I can't give you details. The angle I'm coming from is that I know that I would pay for such a pre-programmed infinite canvas, if the price and the features were right. Thus I am wondering if others would as well. If enough people were inte...

Hi Max,

I also find the larger lettering in your second strip an improvement over the smaller in the first.

(The rain going past the panels, instead of just past the windows also tickles my fancy (as would an ambient looping rain animation)

For the last two weeks I've been reading Flip and Mick every weekday via my WAP phone. It costs me a little less than 3 US cents per time, more if I cruise around the archives, as I'm paying per minute. Normally though, I just load the toon, then disconnect,...

Would anybody here pay for a pre-programmed infinite canvas? I.e. someone else has done all the programming, and you simply buy the canvas, tweak it, or customise it, and then fill it up with your own content. Kind of like paying for hosting on a webserver, but instead of just getting a blank harddr...

Good idea Scott. Doing it every morning takes advantage of everyone's habits. For example, I've put the page in my daily bookmark list (It's right there on the list under Spongey, Jack Master's experimental comic). Going totally overboard with the effects e...

Bah. This is just a stalling tactic while they're waiting to get more laws in place. The more expensive fat content like movies are the less incentive there is to race out and get broadband. So long as the majority of the public don't have fat pipes, movies are reasonably safe from Napserisation. I....

If you download the .swf file, instead of viewing it on screen, you can change the size and shape of the viewing window. Stretching it vertically enlarges the comic, which isn't much use. But stretching it horisontally makes it so that more of the comic fits on to the screen at once, making it possi...

I particularly like the logo which Jack Masters has designed. Cool isn't it! I hope to be able to get involved somehow. There is plenty to do. So don't be shy, choose a thread and get involved.
