Well, I am not sure about Japanese copyright, although American copyright you can get in trouble even if you cross media. I guess I have been to enough GDT classes in college where the first lecture was always about copyright. However that was years ago and it would be better to send you to the sour...

Eric's editorial cartoon
Zwol's Eric F. Myers posted an editorial comic on his website this Friday. While i tried to make a blogger comment, it was too long so I decided to post it here. See the comic at http://www.ericfmyers.com/ ----------- To Eric, This is a really good editorial cartoon. In fact I recently have been rea...

It was pretty obviuos to me that it was a all seeing non-character narator speaking in the yellow boxes, however I see where the confusion might come from. Having a character respond to narative can be confusing depending on the context. In this situation, I might have done the Roadrunner & Coyotte ...

Whoops, took to long for me to write that last post that I must have gotten logged out. That last post was by me. I want to add that I find it risky to use a DVD and rearranging it to tell a different story. Regardless how well you pull it off, there is the issue of copyright. Further, why use a dir...

Here is my two cents worth ... My wife was not a comic book reader when I meet her. She has hence become just as much as a comic literate as I am. However, since this transition was recent, I ask her, "when you started reading comics, did you have any trouble differentiating between word balloons an...

Re: Look, a new "No Contest" strip.
Thanks, Greg, for posting my No Contest strip. Maybe if a bunch of us start to pick on you for not making new Zwol comic, then you'll be motivated to create them. Or maybe you'll fall back into a downward spiral, thinking to yourself that you could never live up to the people's expectations. I thin...

Just from the samples I saw, you don't need a colorist. And even without color, your figures have enough line depth to not need it. I agree ... although I think he concern is that it takes him too long to color a page. Most professional comic artists have a monthly deadline, so that is why there is...
Eric, just read your Truck story ... I am not sure what to say. It is kind of like after you finished watching a Twilight Zone and you are just baffled but intrigued. Good work.

nefertiti, your e-mail on the picture does not work. I got a failed delivery message. My idea was for you to e-mail me (at dalosttoy@yahoo.com) a black and white art and have me color it. Since most of my samples on my web site are not in color, however I do quite a bit in painting and color work. I...

the new site of David Ano

Furthermore the site will focus on everything I do, including professional achievements, artistic achievements and personal achievements. The new site has an online graphic des...

Vince, I learned the news from your site the other day but never got a chance to congratulate you. I know that this is really something big for you and something you have been working on for a long time. While I have not heard of the various artist Head comic, I am familiar with Eros comics. I belie...

If that was you who colored the illustration, you are a decent enough colorist as it is. I would suggest not going too light on the highlights, but other wise it is good. What kind of look are you looking for that is different from what you got? If you want, I take a blacck and white piece and ccolo...

Another cool comic from Kris. This guy is awsome! However, I got the impression that the guy talking about terrorist clones was George W Bush, not Ted Koppel. Maybe I missed something, but how does it relate to the rest of the story or is it suppose to? I know Eric used It's About Girls characters i...

You know, if Marvel, DC and Image went to the internet, sure you could worry about them taking over the market, but for every Spider-man comic in print at Marvel there is a comic like Bone at a independent company like Cartoon Books that still manage to get high numbers too while outside the genre. ...

An easily seen example of a use of "apply pressure" is at http://www.geocities.com/david_ano/norlin1.html (warning it may take a bit to load all the way) I use it in all of my work I do now. I try to make it not too noticable like in the Zwol: Nouveau Chemin it was hardly noticable. The thing about ...

I've always been told that my side scrolling webcomic loaded lickity split. I must be good. And I've always found myself not caring if someone is too damned lazy to move their mouse a few centemeters to read it all. That is all. William, in your case your comic works as a horizontal comic. In fact ...

For the next update of my site (which will happen sometime in the not to distant future I hope) I'm considering offering each comic as a downloadable .zip file. That way you can decide if you want to browse it screen by screen while online (fine if you have a fast connection), or you can just downl...
