In fact, our mild-mannered and unnnoticed protagonist is patiently waiting for his lady-friend Bernice to get off work, so he can take her out for a romantic evening's fishing (or whatever walruses do on dates)...

The walrus really hasn't been waiting all that long. I'm shite at reading numberless clocks, but it hasn't been much over ten min. or so.
