So far, from the votes, it seems so. Though, seriously. I don't think you are. There are lots of people who are interested in doing comics for the web, and doing stuff you can't do in print. And there would probably be even more if it was easier to earn a living from web comics. I for one lik...

Actually, I think web design doesn't need to be that technical at all. I've known and worked with people doing web design, without knowing how to write HTML or use Flash. They were designers that did the graphics, layout and text, then someone else coded the page and put it online. So the designers ...

What size do you work in...

I for one like to work big. If I could I would do my comics so that each panel was between A5 and A4 in size. Though that would probably make the page about A2 or even A1, and I don't have acces to a scanner that has a chance of scanning that big. I also like working with ink and reasonably sized br...

How many people read comics?

I'm curious to know if anyone has any numbers on how many people regularly read comics, or how many comics get read, compared to books, films and other media? I'm mainly thinking comic books (not a strip or two in the daily paper). Are comics very small compared to other media? And who are these peo...

Maybe I had an unlucky day, and maybe top 10 lists aren't important. But to get back to the original topic: Is there a market for online comics? I think the answer has to be YES...but I don't think it is very big. Sites like Modern Tales have shown that people are willing to pay for quality material...

Violently Freudian...

Finally got this old comics scanned and translated. It's a small four pager I drew back in '96. Hope you enjoy it.

Nope....can't say I'm comfortable inking yet, but I try my best. I've been using a brush and indian ink, which is nice to work with, but I still find it a little hard to control. I guess I just have to practice more. I've also been working a lot of on rather rought watercolor paper, which gives a ni...

Cool that the blue pencil worked out. I think it depends entierly on the scanner. I used to have an old black and white scanner that didn't pick up red as it used a red light for scanning.

A lot of people swear by using blue pencils. These could easily be made invisible on the computer afterwards, by simply excluding it (in Photoshop, Paintshop, GIMP or whatever graphics software you use). I, on the other hand, simply ink on the same page I pencil and do the pencils with a B3 pencil. ...

Maybe it should have $0.50, but I think the idea is good...and it's something the music industry should have done years ago. Instead of trying to lock their CDs and going to court against their customers. The idea is a availability. If you feel like listening to a song, you can download it in a few ...

Agreed...get out of geocities. I hate it when I find nice online comics, and after reading 5 pages I get a message telling me bandwith limit something or other and come back later. I just had my site posted on the front page of a gay norwegian web portal, and it boosted traffic like crazy. I actuall...

I thought I might add a little to this thread, even though it's ages since I started it. I found that doing simple projects that I don't expect to be perfect or a 100 pages long was liberating and a good way to get going again if in a slump. Projects like 24-hour comix, 1 hour comix or simply improv...

Improvised Comix - Haul...

New improvised comix just finished. That is a comix where "I just make it up as I go along". No pre- planned story or design, just a blank piece of paper and a random word or element. Currently there is one 6 page story up called Haul, but there are likely to be more in the near future.

Reading order of panels....

Just curious. I'm working on a comic now (coming very soon) and wanted to do a few panels, but felt it might confuse the reader. When doing three panels like this (one tall and two smaller next to it): 1 2 1 3 The reading order is obvious, but when doing two small and a tall like so: 1 3 2 3 ...do y...

I love the drawing style of the comics, and the story reminds me somewhat of Den. The text was a little hard to read....till I found the "big version of this page" link. Nice stuff!

I have considered using Blitz Basic (www.blitzbasic.com) and ArcticPigs (www.arcticpigs.com) for comics, but both have a PC only limitation.

I don't quite understand the marketing of Wild Tangent, it's a game creation tool...right?

I'm curious to know how sites such as moderntales.com and unboundcomics.com are doing. Is it working and are the artists there making any money? Are people willing to pay for online comics?

That's it I guess. :)

Depending on the printer, you may be able to feed the scroll directly into the printer. You might also need some special printer software, that won't divide your stuff into pages. But it should be doable. A scroll comics would be very cool, and if the infinite canvas is not vertical, you could print...

OT: Inspirational article....

I found this article, written by an independant game maker and publisher. A slightly different field from comics, but not too far away from many of the issues going around with online comics and comics authors, so I thought I'd post it here. http://www.dexterity.com/articles/cultivating-burning-desi...
