I generally like it when people share characters, but I also like continuity, such as in a crossover. It makes for a stronger connection between the works containing the character, and usually makes the character stronger as well, unless the two comics have such different atmospheres or mechanics th...

Well, you'd have to make some sort of pnumatic tube system to carry them to people's homes. And mass produce them at the servers. And to make them say, resizable would take quite a lot of doing. If they exist as massive objects, it'll take forever to get them anywhere. You'd have to make them out of...

This sort of reminds me of some other things that people hate and despise because they don't "exist". Micropayments! DARN those non-existant little thingies! I think we need to put them in an IRON-CLAD LOCKBOX!!!

And why do you consider this sort of "existence" a good thing? It's not like the "non-existence" of webpages makes it harder to read them or anything. If they DID have physical form, it seems to me that problems would spring up all over everywhere.

I don't mind reading long things on the web OR in print. Unless the book weighs a lot like the dictionary or something, then I prefer the web. If reading long things on the web bothers you, you can print them out. Print and web comics have different feels to them, which seems to me the biggest diffe...

She's not saying ASPIRING cartoonists should try to crank out pages so that they can pay the bills. But what she's ACTUALLY saying seems numbingly obvious, at least to me, so I think it's pretty natural to assume she's saying more then that. It seems to me the entire article can be summed up by sayi...

I prefer penguins, personally. They're more minimalist, and they change posture less from scene to scene.

I really have no INTENTION of drawing comics as a professional. I draw comics because I enjoy it, and to re-route my modes of behavior so that I produce more at the expense of my rather relaxed mode of living seems like pure idiocy. I don't mean to downplay the importance of drawing comics, quite th...

Part of what makes something a comic is having space represent time. Since whether space represents time in RLtD is rather ambiguious, one might say that it can be seen as a comic or not, and that since both points of view are subjective, it's niether 100% a comic nor 100% NOT a comic. I'd say it's ...

I know some people who find default table borders ugly in any setting, possibly because it reminds them of something they didn't like. It's just a completely normal beveled border, I see nothing wrong with it myself. I think I prefer having the "last updated" box be a different style from the panels...

Yeah, I generally use Kabalarians.com for real-world names. They're a crazy cult of some kind, but they do have a very large list of names. Most of the characters in my comics are wacky or surreal enough that real world names don't suit them well though. And once one character in a story has a made ...

What methods do you all use for coming up with character names? I use a hodgepodge of standard systems, but as of late I've run into a lot of instances where none of them seem to fit well.

I dunno, one of the best things about Carl was the sense of real closure at the end of the comic. If he comes back from the dead, it kind of violates the integrity of that, and what's to say he won't stay dead THIS TIME, either?

Still, "Night of the Living Carl" is a pretty catchy name.

My new comic, Temporalectopia, has nothing on its page except the comic itself. In part, I was just to tired at the time I put it up to stick in a bunch of info and dingbats and such, and in another part I don't really want to look at that stuff anyway.

For me, creating comics is more a part of my thought proccess then a means of communicating ideas or getting people to remember me.

I do feel a need to have an impact on the world, but the specific impact I'd like to have is not really something I'd go about making through comics.
