Site is still down but you can still read new comics.
In a fit of rage some weeks ago, I deleted everything off my sever and put up a small note and image . I thought I would have a new layout for my site done before the new year was over. Well, that didn't happen, but you can still read a new comic by me every Sunday at http://www.ericfmyers.com/comix...

As for "the webcomic takes over the entire computer screen" you could put your pages in a zip file then change the name from *.zip to *.cbz. Then your readers could download each chapter and read them using CDisplay.

Webcomic search engine.
Ryan North of Dinosaur Comics fame has created a new search engine for webcomics. You have to add a bit of Java code to your comic's pages to be included and then you have to transcribe each comic. I'm not sure how this will work with silent comics and the more experimental comics but I think it's ...

That seems like it could get expensive. Have you thought about just joining an studio artist community. Most have introduction classes to help you on the basics. Some also have models that will come in once or twice a week for people to paint/draw/sculpt. Here's one of many that is located in Chicag...

New Imaginary.
<a href="http://www.the-imaginary.com/">A new strip has been posted on The Imaginary</a>. As you can see, <a href="http://www.ericcockrell.com/">Eric</a> and <a href="http://www.ericfmyers.com/">I</a> will be trading off on the comic duty. I can imagine the rivalry that this will cause between our r...

Style doesn't matter. Readability matters. I don't care if it's Manga-like, Kurby-like, Miller-like, or Underground, if you can't figure out what the hell is going on panel to panel you're not going to read it. The artwork is the first think the eye is going to see. I don't care how well written som...

I don't cater to a certain audience, and nether do 99% of the webcomics that I read. But maybe that's the problem, that's what makes them so "inaccessible." We cater to ourselves. What makes a movie or television show "mainstream"? They are written for the masses, making the final product dull and m...

I have to say that today's strip is my favorite of the series. It could almost stand on it's own as some sort of surrealistic, unfinished narrative.

David, thank you for making that post. It was a very terrible coincidence. Today was my day off of work, and I couldn't sleep last night. This is very strange, for as my wife can tell you, on my days off I usually sleep for a good ten hours. I woke up around 3:00 am (Chicago time/9:00am London time)...

Re: It's About Girls #13
As always great job William. Your art is really getting better. You're putting a lot of effort it to these pages and it shows. It's actually taking me twice as long to clean up these pages as it is to color them. I'm going to play with my scanner to make it less sensitive to what is on my comic page...

For what it's worth, I've seen some pieces printed by Comixpress and I thought they did a quality job. I have not had any dealing directly with Comixpress. Tim Yeah, I've ordered other people's comics and they've done a fantastic job on those. If their comics were on the shelf in a shop you wouldn'...

You know, I read about the new laws this week and there is one out there now called " restraint of trade ", that says something about if you cause harm to someone's business, you can be held responsible for that in a court of law. I wouldn't do anymore postings if I was you and maybe even remove th...
