Good questions Tim. It all depends on what you want to accomplish. For long format weekly would be good. Daily will up your readership, but that is not practical for long format. The size of your update will depend on you too. How much work can you produce on a weekly basis? I tried weekly with mine...

Is there a sign up for a card or just post it and hope someone else doesn't beat you to it?

I COULDN'T TAKE YOUR IMMATURE RANT SERIOUSLY SINCE IT WAS WRITTEN IN INTIAL CAPS....LOL I agree that seems a strong statement for something subjective. He seems another person condition by what has always been. Intial caps doesn't make anything immature. It's not even an issue. Randy http://www.merm...

Your art is great. I like your style. I even like your taste in music. With the click though comic you should do it in flash so the art streams in rather than going from page to page. That's how I do it anyway.
Nice site too.
Good work

I usuall spend an hour plus a night. Writing the comic I do when I am commuting or delivering to a client. So I use time that is normally wasted. I spend a couple of nights pencilingand inking. Another night to scan. Then I color and add copy. Then I put it together in flash. Wallah, a ten to fiftee...

Paint shop pro is great for creating art. It has a much better feel than photoshop. I highly recomend it for anyone trying to creat natural media feel art on the computer. Photoshop just isn't as good for that. Everything else photoshop has the edge. Color correcting, manipulating images, creating c...

Mad magazine has always been a big influence for me. I got my first subscription in the 70s and I still get it. Of that group, Don Martin has always been my favorite. I still refer to his books when I need inspiration. I'm also a big fan of Will Eisner. I also pull his books out for inspiration. Randy

When I scan in my black and white art, I then do levels to get rid of smudges and artifacts. If anything is left over, then I erase. But my black and whites are usually clean so I don't have that problem too often. Adding color I have a wacom tablet. So I use the paint brush and just paint on the un...

I remember the art work. But that is normally how I look at comics, literally. Sometimes I read them but I don't remember specifics in writing unless it is bad. What I have noticed with art and comics is if you don't see anything wrong you did well. People will remember the mistakes and not the succ...

That's the version I have, classic. It did come with my tablet. However, I just can't get the right feel drawing with the tablet. I keep trying because it would be a great time saver, but I'm not happy with my results. I use the tablet to color my comics once I scan them in, but I use photoshop for ...

All your points are good ones Greg. Especially about coving art later with balloons. Some planning for balloons helps in that. I have no problem with computer type verses hand. As long as it is readable. I used to had letter but got too many complaints about being able to read it. I have been typing...

Something that I have been wondering about is what most web cartoonist training has been. As for me, I took some cartoon classes at the local rec center. Decided I wanted to be a cartoonist and went to School of Visual Arts. After a year of SVA I started working as a packaging artist. 17 years later...

I have been playing with the idea of making my comics in a download and print format. I will still have the online version, but then take the frames and make a more traditional comic book that can be downloaded and printed. The print version will be a little different than the online, and a little b...

Sites with a splash page warning about content or giving you a flash non-flash choice make sense. It's those sites that have a big logo saying, " click here to enter my site" that drive me nuts. And yes, a simple home page is by far the best. If I go to sites that cram every trick in the book on the...
