Additionally, if Sky's up for it, there's really no reason to poll our opinions. Isn't that part of what micropayments are about?

Incredibly, Sky has already won $200 for the poem she wrote on the topic of World Peace at age 8! I was thinking that a kind of online "bake sale"-style benefit for the school would be cool, because, if it went well, it's a model that could be replicated by other schools. Also, being in California, ...

On a similar -- though more tasteless -- tack:

It occured to me on the supermarket checkout line that any love song can be significantly altered by the addition of the word "Bitch" to the end.

Not that I'm suggesting it or anything, just a thought.

Nope. They were always going to kiss.

Not that *other* comments haven't influenced me. The Wally=Walrus comments alerted me to the fact that I'd inadvertantly picked the wrong name, so I changed it.

Aaah, Sigur Ros... My first encounter was when Cat Garza introduced me to the haunting "Svefn-G-Englar" which has the most enormous, cavernous sound space imaginable. When I'm in a really dark mood I'll put that on along with Radiohead's "Pyramid Song" and Drake's "River Man". Hey, here's an odd one...

That was funny. I added the trails this morning, fearing that some might read the comic in the wrong direction and then just arrived here to find that you guys were already discussing the need ahead of time. And since you asked: Yes, the increased spaces in "Evil" were introduced deliberately to aff...

Thanks for sticking with me through "Evil", Guys. I did kind of slide off the rails that time. A few notes: Please don't ever hesitate to tell me when an Improv blows. Ivy and I enjoy reading the brickbats every bit as much as the bouquets. "Dropping the Cow" is pretty much what I did. Good term for...

Air Poetry!

I accidentally left my microphone turned on while I went on an errand. My voice dictation system listened to the highway and ambient noises for 40 minutes and came up with this: "WHY GRATEFUL LACK CHOICE HE PUT THOUGHT ON TO HAND AND HE MOVED @ HOW TO ENHANCE AND OF WILL HAVE TO SLASH THE HOT AIR BY...

No, you were right the first time. We DO have over 3000 title suggestions. (3,425 so far -- some of which contain multiples) Out of those, I've picked 546 of the better ones (so far) to be "Candidates". And out of those "candidates" we randomly select 10 each round to get voted on. Sorry for any con...

These are fascinating suggestions. I fear they might not be practical, time-wise, but I'll keep listening just in case. You never know. Meanwhile, a quick correction: Title authors can be picked more than once. I don't have a rule against that. (I just felt bad when I once picked someone twice in a ...

Remember, the one thing you can do is recruit a few friends (assume they like the title too). Right now, it would take about six but you never know.

Haven't worked out a method for saving and archiving panels in progress yet. The idea isn't bad, though I doubt I would charge for such a thing unless I really went the DVD route and had lots of extras. When The Right Number is complete, I will probably offer a tutorial on exactly how I did it, and ...

Actually, I'm figuring a lot out this week and Illustrator is getting easier now. Especially when it comes to colors.

Flash, for what I'm doing, would be far more difficult I'm afraid.

The Right Number, in fact, was drawn in Illustrator and then imported *into* Flash.

I didn't even notice the lightswitch position until now. I did use the same linework as in the earlier panels. Surprised that just changing the colors and such wound up taking the whole hour. Adobe Illustrator can be a bear sometimes. As for the switch, I guess it was a bit weird to put one by the w...

Note to Christopher: You could always recruit a friend or three. ^^ I have an inkling of what I would do if "Nothing to do with Lemons" was picked and it would indeed be fun. I just checked and unless they're using alternate names, neither of those titles originated with Greg O. or Patrick.

In general, I don't look at the authors until one gets picked.

Maybe you dreamed them?

Natacha Atlas' version of J Brown's "Man's World" is very cool actually. I'm thinking of checking her stuff out more. Very eclectic. And good ol' Sparks! (Ivy is your friend for life now, Greg :-). I haven't figured out the best way to phrase it yet, but I was hoping to present the feature as a way to donate to the site with a little fun premium thrown in -- rather than simply paying for your vote. The votes are really a bonus; a thank-you gift. As Alexandre said, I think a diversity of approa...
