Agreeing with the folks above...

I thoroughly agree with the folks above. Losttoy is right about GeoCities and all free sites in general--you may have a slightly slow site, and you may not have that much free space on the server, AND you may have obligatory ads, but you're getting web space for FREE. What you don't pay for, but wha...

A few more examples of comics journalism...

...although it's probably too late for the original poster's thesis, since this thread appears to have been resurrected after a seven month lapse.... - Jessica Abel takes a stab at comics as human-interest/mundane journalism . While some comics on her site really show her ability as a storyteller, h...

Another option might be...

...the other option not mentioned here, of course, is inking digitally in Flash or photoshop, using the pressure-sensitive paintbrush tool and a wacom art tablet. Takes a little getting used to, but you can scan in your work, as messy as you want it to be, dim it down by adjusting the opacity or bri...

Mullets rule.

Bill, I seriously dig the mullet. (That comic made me laugh out loud.) Vince--get better soon! No comic this week, but another ol' office doodle from a meeting. This time, I had Dave Matthews, bowling, and bad Korean transliterations on the brain. http://comics.huah.net/ontheburner/kbdmg1030sm.jpg H...

...Vince, you realize that MBD is customizable, right? If you don't like the nouns and verbs in it, just erase the lists and type in your own, making sure each word is on its own line. Making it even cooler. ;j (Thanks again for all the raves!) A comics directory is something that I'd say is very much needed...especially one with editors, a la dmoz or yahoo. One interesting feature I'd like to vote for is groupings/links between the comics creators. These wouldn't have to be exclusive (e.g., because I hang out on the zwol forum doesn't mea...

Freehand: cool. I was going to try Illustrator with this one (webslices--whoa!), but I'm still stuck on the first pages of the manual ;j As for TMBG, what about a webcomic jam, where people contribute comics for songs... we could do it in the jam section. I dig it. But only if I get to lay claim to ...

Thanks, Bill! Your comic is cool, too...really evokes a mood. Out of curiousity, what do you use to draw Jason? I use Macromedia Flash. I've got an old version 5 that works just fine for me. My hour is up, so despite the fact that, at the forty minute point, I discovered Macromedia Flash had deleted all my linework for the first six panels, I plugged on and "finished" it as is. Since it took me an hour to do all that, I didn't bother going further or redrawing/finishing it. It was a goo...

Both Comics and Sequential Art and its follow on, Graphic Storytelling , are pretty good, but know in advance that they're mostly reprints of Will Eisner's other works--not that this is necessarily a bad thing. Eisner introduces a concept or two, usually illustrates it with some figures and examples...
