Anyone presenting their webcomic in storyboard format?
Just curious...
Is any webcomic presented in storyboard format as the only format it is presented in? If so, I'd appreciate a link to them to check them out.

What is "storyboard format"?
I am confused by the question. Most comics seem to be in a format similar to storyboards, as I understand them...

Essentially, the rough draft before it's cleaned up for inking. Possibly adding more penciling detail since it would be the final stage, which would be shown to the public.russ wrote:I am confused by the question. Most comics seem to be in a format similar to storyboards, as I understand them...
If we're just talking about art that is clearly pencil art instead of ink art:

are perhaps some prominent examples, depending on how rough vs cleaned up you mean...

Thanks. That is more along the lines of what I'm seeking. The "precise" style I'm seeking is rougher and closer to the top illustration (the Seer looking into the crystal ball) on this webpage: http://www.dominic-deegan.com/fanart.html Do you know of one done in that style?russ wrote:If we're just talking about art that is clearly pencil art instead of ink art:

I"m going through webcomics using the index at Belfry: http://www.belfry.com/comics/index.phpruss wrote:I know I've seen plenty of webcomics done in rough pencil art... hmm. Offhand, I can't think of any that meet your description. (I looked at some more I thought of, but they have computer lettering, or some ink + pencil, etc.)
Oh well, good luck with the quest.
If you have a better index or one that indexes what Belfry doesn't, please let me know.

Online Comics gives thumbnail pictures of the comics it lists. That might speed up your search.Pumpkin Pie wrote:If you have a better index or one that indexes what Belfry doesn't, please let me know.

I did one that actually was a storyboard, but I just turned it into a comic as I never got around to making it as a film. It can be found here:

It's all rough pencils in same size panels, drawn on small yellow post-it notes.

Sorry, but I'm having a bit of difficulty finding it. What is the story's name?ragtag wrote:I did one that actually was a storyboard, but I just turned it into a comic as I never got around to making it as a film. It can be found here:

I liked it, though the action was sometimes a little hard to follow. I think I grok the transitions between the fight and the imaginings/memories, but the actual action in the fight itself was sometimes unclear to me. E.g. page 22/23 I couldn't tell if the attacker was trying to push the guy's head against the spike, or why he seemingly dragged him to the fence.
The first panel of http://www.ragtag.net/comix/nowthen/10.html squicked me because I once stood on an iron fence with spikes like that and the spikes punctured my shoes and the soles of my feet. Ow.
BTW the deluxe edition of Fight Club DVD has the storyboard for the movie in this sort of sketchy style.
