One of the webcomics I read on a regular basis, Jack, has successfully completed an experiment with something the author, David Hopkins, calls "Comic Hostage."
Basically, the main comic is free to read, as it always has been, but now he tried this experimet in which he will reveal new pages of a side-comic in his forum for a $10 donation per page. The 16 page story was revealed in about a week.

That's not a lot... For what he made I couldn't even commission that many comics. XD That said, considering the medium and what it costs to get a furry commission his prices were fair for revealing them. (I'm comparing to commissions by furries on amateur sites.)
Were I him, I'd throw in sending an original signed copy and limiting the reprints to a few. (With shipping).
