Li'l Monsters

Post by DON the IDEA GUY »

Inspired by everyone else making headway in the online comic arena, and the incredible support and feedback of the ZWOL forums, I decided to begin my personal foray into webcomics by revisiting an idea a collaborator and I undertook almost ten years ago.

I've posted a collection of cartoons originally created in a quest for syndication and then filed away after meeting with defeat. Our skills as a writer and artist have certainly improved over the years, but I wanted to get my feet wet and this seemed to be the path of least resistance to simply get "something" online.

I'm hoping you'll take a few minutes to visit the Li'l Monsters collection and share your impressions of the general concept. Should feedback be of a generally positive nature, the artist has already agreed to discuss reviving the project. The only question remaining would be this: do we keep the characters the same ages as in the original, or do we move them forward ten years and see what they're up to now?

I look forward to your comments!

I think they were very humorous. If you guys decided to make more you'll have at least one regular reader.

My thanks to those who've already taken a look and left a message on the board or sent a private email. The more input I get, the better the output.

What we did waaay back then it looks so old to me now. I'm just in love with the concept (I'm a big classic horror fan and always loved Charles Addams' work comics, as well as the old Munsters tv show.) I'm hoping the feedback I get allows me to wield a big club of "they said it was cool" and get the artist back on the Li'l Monsters bandwagon. :)

Of course, I'm happy to return the favor if anyone else wants my two-cents worth on their work.

...and speaking of two cents worth...

I've signed up for BitPass, but having a little difficulty understanding exactly what I need to do in order to get it up an running. There are several projects I'm about to launch that could benefit from the BitPass system (you can peek at another if you visit http://www.PeopleAreHell.com) but it just doesn't seem to be as intuitive to use as PayPal. I know I may sound like a dissenter on the boards, but I really DO want BitPass to work, I just think they need to make the back end stuff a little more turn-key.

I don't know how you feel about this Don, but I can easily see the comic in Mad Magazine with the title "The Lighter Side Of Reanimated Corpses". That's a good thing

Heh-heh-heh...
I was simply going to say any comparison to a classic like that is fine with me -- but I did a quick search to see the format (haven't read one of those strips in years) and I was AMAZED at how closely the rhythm of my strip matched Dave Berg's!

If my style has to match-up with someone, at least I've got good taste! ;)
Thanks for the compliment, William.

The Revenge of Li'l Monsters

Post by DON the IDEA GUY »

I've posted another month's worth of strips.
If you read the entire last set I posted, you can start here to pick-up where you left off:

Otherwise, you probably ought to start at the beginning:

The artist (Mike) has been so jazzed about the feedback you've shared regarding the strip, he's been motivated to start redesigning the characters for a possible update of the strip.

We'd love to hear your comments about the strip!
