My first 24 hour comic

Post by Merlin »

My first attempt, completed yesterday:

http://e-merl.com/fever.htm

First off, can everyone see it? Scott said he wasn't getting anything but white when he tried. I've tested it on Explorer on campus and it shows up fine. If someone using netscape could take a look, I'd appreciate it.

And second, what do folk think? I started with the intention of it being a hypercomic, but then an overal plot started to suggest itself and it had turned into a linear piece by the end. Does it actually make any sense? I'm really too close to it to be sure myself.

Yes, I can see it and yes, it makes sense.

At first I wasn't sure if it was going to make any sense, but the narrative started to surface after several pages. This is probably my favorite of your comics to date. I liked Brain Slide's interface, but this one has a stronger narrative and is more involving to read for that reason.
Good morning! That's a nice tnetennba.

It's too bad I have not been online for so long because when I finaly get a chance to read this, everybody has said what I want to say. Frighting, intense, brilliant, strong, creative, and it is just beautiful. I am making my wife read this one ... let's see what a non-comic-reader has to say about it (I'll report back to you when she sees it).

Bravo! Merlin, I have always thought your work was great, but yet you seem to keep raising the bar everytime you do another comic. Good luck trying to top this one. :P

Merl, that was GREAT

You always get to the bottom of things even in your improvised work.

I'm goin' to do one too once I'm in holiday season and my site is up.

Thanx for showing us the light! 8)

My wife read it. See thought it was brilliant, creepy, and thought it was good, but admited that she was in the Christmas mood and wasn't looking for something Stephen King-ish. She would have liked reading it more if it was Holloween. There's the non-comic-reader opinion (Dave rolls his eyes.)

Merlin's 24-hour comic is indeed stylish and eerie. I am very interested in this form.
