You can't be Mr. Black. Some other guy on some other job is Mr. Black.

Poor Mr. Brown. No votes, and barely any screen time.

Of course, Mr. Blue didn't even make it into the survey...

Personally, I prefer Mr. Blue, Mr. Green, Mr. Brown, and Mr. Gray from The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.

A friend of mine, who grew up Manhattan, told me a story about Lawrence Tierney (Joe Cabot). He said that when he was a kid, in the early '70s, he once decided to run away from home, and wound up Central Park. There he hopped on one of those horse and buggy handsome cabs so prevalent in the park. The buggy driver turned out to be none other than Tierney, who was out of work as an actor at the time. Tierney asked my friend why he was running away home, and my friend told him the whole story. He said that Tierney was like, "Ah, things don't sound so bad at home, kid. You should go back. I'm sure your parents would be very sad if you ran away." And with that, Tierney convinced him to go back home..and didn't charge him for the ride.

OK, so it's a dopey story. It just that seeing Tierney on screen, you think of this gruff guy who'd probably be like, "Pay me upfront, or beat it kid. I don't wanna hear ya sob stories."

Certainly not as interseting as my Kelsey Grammer story.

How is whiny Mr. Pink beating out Mr. Blonde? I mean, sure Mr. Blonde is a repulsive psychopath, but as far as cool I think we can pretty much gurantee that Mr. Blonde used to take Mr. Pink's lunch money in school...

Mr. White is a close second - I would give him the tie but the catchy dancing torture scene with Mr. Blonde is pretty much what I think of when I think of Resevoir Dogs.

I think it's that whole "I don't leave tips" thing. Everybody wishes they'd thought of it first.
