Making Comics

Post by PingTiao »

Well, i was inspired by UC and RC and was inspired to do something like this....goes to show any idea you might have another has....but I think McCloud will do MUCH better with his! Anyhow, dunno if a similar thread has come up, but I wonder, what are you gonna cover in "Making Comics" Scott? Can we offer up some suggestions or open discussion on some things you're workin through in here, similar to the implied discussion in UC concerning the definition of comics? I believe this would be very interesting.

Main concerns, dont forget about the non web comics people, I dont plan on making many myself and would be disappointed to have us oldschoolers minimalised.

Also wanted to know if you might plan on offering a digital version of making comics, so we all dont have to spend $20-35 on that. Think it would be a big seller and promotion for bitpass to find a good and low price, $5-10, preferably as low as you can go while still being able to feed the family. I'd be down to get that until I can afford making comics....im usually broke except on fin. aide payout day. I love print books and would buy a copy eventually anyhow....so youd sell 2 copies to me at least. Just an idea.

i gotta jam, next class needs the puter lab.

With Respect,

PingTiao

Sorry I've been so quiet lately about Making Comics. I'm actually working 11 hours a day on it, but the lead time is so long (publication won't be until late '06) that I haven't felt the need to rush any previews out.

In a few months, I might start to post a bit more. Until then -- back to the old drawing boar -- er, tablet.

How many pages do you get done in a day, Scott? I can't really do more than seven or eight, but I don't work such long hours!

Can't wait for MC to come out... if you do decide to make it micropayable, don't neglect the flat dead wood option altogether! People without credit cards need you!

11 hours a day? Hmmm, I don't have 11 hours a day free... Let's see.. Sleeping; 20 hours, reading drawing, napping; 3 hours. See? Impossible.

Ryan Estrada having an evil twin would explain how he gets so much done.
