A One-hour comic.

Post by Surlyben »

Short attention-span 24 hour comics. A complete story, one hour, 20 panels. It isn't as exhausting as a 24 hour comic, but it's at least as frantic.

I like the idea of a 1 hour comic! (One of the links to the images, next to last row, is not linking) I like it!

Thanks. The image should be fixed now. Accidentally linked to the file on my desktop  That's kind of an important row...

This is such a cool thing, I'm moving the topic from Hype to Art. Maybe we can see more of these from other people?

Since I have time to kill before I meet some friends at the coffee shop, I'm going to do a One Hour Comic and it's starting now! I'll post when it's finished and up!

The above link will lead you to the One Hour comic that I just finished, with four minutes to spare! It feels really good to have done it. Why aren't you doing one?

later,
Randy

PS: I propose that we call them "Lunch Hour Comics", since it only takes an hour and one could get done during lunch.

24 panels. Hey! you're showing me up :) Cool comic though. I like the larger panel size. I was afraid I wouldn't finish in time if I went with big panels.

Um. "Lunch hour comic" works for me.

It might offend people who eat brunch

I made one too:

It's about entropy, the stuck-in-the-wall thing doesn't really have anything to do with it and was made outside of the time limit, years outside.

I'm going to do one, too. It's sort of like 1/24th of a 24-hour comic. Would have done it already, but life intervenes.

Done!

http://www.hi.is/~bjornkri/1hcomic/

Only 16 frames, and it took me nearly an hour to draw. Only had a minute to scan, and I took a bit longer than that... Especially since I had to copy and paste into the wooly frame thing.. I thought that would save me some time, not sure it did :)

Anyway, great fun to do, it usually takes me an hour to do a single simple drawing :)

Oh, and yes, I was listening to Pink Floyd when I drew this :)

I'm doing something a little different, which isn't much like a one-hour comic, except that I'm working quickly. I'm just spending about one hour each day (more like the Morning Improv, actually) adapting Hamlet. Since I'm using Tom Stoppard's "15-minute Hamlet" rather than the full text, I should be done sometime next week. I'll be posting pages as I complete them, so the first ones will appear this week.

A preview of that is up today. Taking a cue from what seems to be Randy's MO, I snapped a digi-photo and slapped it up there.

I just finished a one hour comic. I got the plot idea and a name from http://rumandmonkey.com/elements/index.php , can I still call it mine?

I'll try to get it scanned tomorrow, if I can figure out where to do it. The output from the CGI that I worked with was "The ladies room at the all male gay bar" and the name "Dira". I even got 24 panels in an hour and one 8.5x11 page.

Sorry about the low quality scan, I wasn't the one who scanned it.

[Edited to change it into a link from an included image, because it was kind of large.]

Anyone mind if I...

Post by Surlyben »

Hey, anyone mind if I link to your comics? I'm planning on redesigning my website in anticipation of project I am working on, and I thought I would put up a section for one-hour (aka lunch hour...) comics...

Also, I just finished another one: www.contretemps.net

Feel free to link to mine as well. You really shouldn't have to ask permission to link to things.
