It was the radical kittens who don't actually have a specific bucket of their own, but who the Star Bucket Kittens can't find.

The Moon Kittens were just an easy scapegoat to pin it on since they aren't capable of dealing with the real threat of the No Bucket Kittens who Hide In Caves.

That's okay, though, since the whole incident will allow the Leader of the Star Bucket Kittens to begin revoking the civil liberties of the other Star Bucket Kittens.

It's all very heartwarming.

What, you think there's only 2 cresent buckets? There are more that we haven't seen I'll bet. Of course, Mr. Bubble assumes that the cresent buckets represent Iraq. It could be Afghanistan. Remember Afghanistan? Since there are two cresent buckets, maybe one is Iraq, and the other is Afghanistan. Which would mean the cave kittens one had a bucket of their own, until the Star Bucketeers came in, with claws drawn.

Then again, I could be wrong (though that would violate the laws of the Universe). The story ain't over yet. Only Scott knows for sure.

As for the cave kittens: patience, grasshopper. They're penned in those caves, and are pretty harmless as long as they stay in those caves. It's called attrition. Eventually, they'll run out of Tender Vittles.

How do you guys interpret the star bucket kittens reminding the moon bucket kitties that "It's polite to say thank you"?

They liberated those thankless crescent kitties. Of course the kittens ought to say thank you.

I think Scott is suggesting that we (the U.S.) came into Iraq and Afghanistan, blew up a lot of stuff, killed a few people, and now we expect them to be grateful. So far, I think Scott is suggesting the all the U.S. has done in the Middle-East is a knew-jerk reaction to 9-11 (which is represented by the thrown rock)

Personally, I don't agree with Scott's sentiments, but I "get it". I think I've come to understand Scott's political point of view, and I see where he's coming from. I have learned how the liberal mind works.

If I'm wrong about you or what you are trying to say, Scott, then set me straight.

I had assumed that the two crescent buckets we've seen are representative of both Iraq and Afghanistan, but of course you're right--only Scott knows for sure.

see, and here i was not assuming any political agenda in kittens. hmm, weren't we just talking about political agendas in fictional stories in another post? i honestly thought it was just a bunch of kittens who didn't like each other. now, i have to assume nationalities? i liked it better when i was ignorant.

The ? puppies.

edit: Also, if the moon kittens were meant to represent the muslim population of the world, obviously the TWO star buckets are meant to represent the Shiites and the Sunnis. They'd never reside in the same bucket.

I'm assuming the two buckets represent Afghanistan and Iraq, the two countries we conquered and then were surprised when they weren't grateful.

I'll say one thing about the Star kitties, though; at least they did their own fighting, unlike the draft-dodgers in our own country who sent other people's children to commit their crimes for them.

Gees, what worse, ingnorance, or twisted beliefs, combined with America bashing for the sake of America bashing?

The United States does not conquer other nations, it liberates them. Read a history book.

If we conquered Afghanastan, then why have they just completed their constitutional convention? Why did we allow them to call themselves the Islamic Republic of Afghanstan? Why? Because we allowed them to establish their own sovereignty, and to set up their own democracy. Wake up, and read a newspaper, Doc.

Who are these draft dodger's you speak of? I'd bet if there was a draft today, you'd be the first one running up to Canada. Oh, yeah, and Saddam did a lot of his own fighting didn't he? That cock-sucker really put up a fight when we captured him, didn't he?

No, of course he didn't. He uttered that favorite of Arab phrases, "I want to negotiate." He's lucky we took him alive. If I had stumbled on Saddam, I would have told him "The time to negotiate was last year. Too late now, asshole!" Then I would have put a bullet in his worthless brain. Good thing I'm not over there, or they would have had to court-martialed me after the first week in that God forsaken country.

Jesus, Matty and Felipe! Have we forgotten that the United States was attacked on 9/11/01? Have we forgotten that we at war, not just with that bearded beanpole with the diaper on his head, but ALL terrorists and those who support them. That includes the Talyban's Afghanastan, Saddam's Iraq, as well as Iran, Syria, and Saudi Arabia.

Getting back to today's Improv, is it an accident that the protesting star bucket cat is colored red?

Ding ding.

But hey, you know, they were glad it happened. So it was okay to beat the everloving shit out of them. That way, no one will ever throw another rock at Star Bucket ever again.

Sorry, Greg, but I HAVE TO respond to one thing.

Are you calling ME a Nazi, Doc, or are your just professing your own love of Hitler? Be careful about who you call a Nazi, pal. My grandfather lost several cousins ,who he left behind in the "old country", to those Nazi scumbags.

Most people who liberally use the word Nazi don't even know what a real Nazi is. When you've been roused from your bed in the middle of the night, dragged out of your house, packed into a cattle car, taken to a concentration camp, had the gold and silver fillings yanked out of your head, and then herded into a de-lousing chamber where you are gassed to death, THEN you'll know what a Nazi is.

When you call anybody who disagrees with you Nazi, you not only insult the person you are calling a Nazi, but you also belittle the horrors of the Holocaust, and insult all the millions of people who were victimized by it.

I'm not here to engage in flame wars, but grow up Doc. 'Nuff said.

This is a comic strip, people! Yes, it may appear to be a cover for something political, but I think people on both sides are getting out of hand. Most notably Rip and Doc, but there are others. I'd like to remind everyone that this forum is, in fact, meant for the discussion of Scott McCloud's Morning Improv comics. If you want to talk about politics, fine. But stop pretending you're talking about the Morning Improv. You're not fooling anyone.

That's a hard argument to make when the comic itself is about politics. I could see your point if this discussion was about Peanuts or Family Circus.

Sorry I lost my temper, Greg.

It won't happen again, because I won't be reading any of Rip's posts. Some people simply can't be reasoned with, and he's proved he is one of these.

Now I'm new to these boards (although I'm a longtime reader of MI), but I bet that Scott would agree with me when I say that we are talking about the current Morning Improv.

Scott has made an interesting and inventive political satire with the current MI, and it has sparked debate about the events Scott is referring to. Not only do I think it's appropriate, but I bet it's what Scott intended.

Just my $0.02.
