Writer seeking artist for webcomic. [PAID]

Post by MrDonut »

I can pay around $5-$10 per page. I know it's little, but I may be able to pay more in the future.

The story can best be described by Action/Adventure and Drama scenes interjected and played down with humor.

"An Idiot's Odyssey":

At a young age, two brothers, Lyle and Mason, were told by an old man about a mystical land named Paradise where all your dreams are a reality. Though he was really just using the word as a metaphor and they mistook it as an actual location. Without realizing their mistake they go on a journey, and soon meet up with a girl named Wren who quickly joins them. They quickly end up in over their heads after getting caught in the middle of a war between two factions fighting for control of the world itself.

Each chapter is around 20-30 pages. I'm not sure how many chapters it turn out to be, but it should be somewhere around 100. I would prefer a manga/cartoonish style, and I'm not looking for anything realistic.
I have almost the entire storyline fleshed out and I have over 10 chapters fully scripted already.

The story will also have a bit of fantasy to it, with "hybrid" creatures (humans with animal traits, though the majority is just centaurs) playing a large role, as well as rocks called "minerals" which are sought out and collected due to the varying properties of them (such as; causing flames, producing artificial wind, the mass of the mineral suddenly multiplying).

All my designs for the characters are very over-the-top and weird in both appearance and personality (main characters designs below). There may also be some occasional fanservice (for both sexes, no double standards here) but it will be tame and seldom.

A small piece of advice, if your budget is small, start small.
Don't plan 100 issues of 20 pages at 5-10$, or your art will look like it.
Do a web-comic, a weekly one, one page a week, or one every other week, 20 pages over 5/10 months, and offer something around 30$ a page.
Better art -> more interest from readers -> more chances to earn money back.
(try webtoon or other platforms)
5$ a page is just silly, a good artist will put 5/10 hours work in that page, it's one day of work.
Would you work a full day for 5 dollars?
Even as a hobby, that's not worthwhile.
