Third Eye Storytelling now accepting Submission Proposals

Post by Riotradiofm »

We are a new comic book publisher, and we want you to tell your story! Let us be your starting line and your way into the world of comic book storytelling! Our guidelines are listed below and you can also learn more at www.ThirdEyeStorytelling.com

Third Eye Storytelling only publishes creator-owned material. We do not contract creators; we’re only interested in publishing original content for which you would retain all rights. Please do not submit any work that utilizes already-existing characters—Image characters or otherwise—as they will automatically be declined.

Third Eye Storytelling publishes creator-owned/creator-generated properties and WE DON’T PAY PAGE RATES. Third Eye Storytelling takes a small flat fee off the books published and it will be the responsibility of the creators to determine the division of the remaining pay between their creative team members.

PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS:
1 A brief, typed cover letter that summarizes your project and your previous work, if relevant. Include contact information (name, e-mail address, address, phone and fax numbers) clearly printed on the top of the page. Submissions are responded to via e-mail only.
2 A typed, one page, synopsis of the overall story arc (not just of the first issue). Please keep this as succinct as possible and do include major plot points and spoilers. Tell us what sets your story apart from other comics and be clear as to who the target audience is (“Everyone is not realistic—there is no single book on the market today that everybody buys). You can tell us whether you see it as a full color or a black-and-white book, a miniseries or an ongoing series, a prestige book or an original graphic novel. There are times, however, when we may suggest what format we think will be most successful for your story in the current market.
3 Photocopies of fully inked and lettered sequential story art pages (any size, but no character sketches or bios). DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL ART as your work will not be returned. Please include a minimum of five pages that are fully inked and lettered. We may make suggestions based off these, but we are primarily concerned with your understanding of the medium and how to tell a sequential story. Color is OPTIONAL. If you have a colorist and plan on this being a colored book, it would be advisable, we may suggest a different colorist if we decide to acquire the project.
4 A cover mock-up—this lets us know whether or not you understand the market and gives us a good barometer on your design sense. With creator approval, this may go through a redesign if we decide to acquire your project.
5 Email all submissions to

To clairify something else, we aim to pay for printed publication through Diamond Distribution. Digital Publication will go through Comixology, and physical copies can also be ordered through Amazon as they are the company that owns Comixology.
Another thing that we do is advertise through social media and even through other outlets like Alterna Comics, Mad Magazine, and more. Our audience is growing just as yours will be, and with a good partnership, we will grow together.
I understand that there comes a risk with choosing a new Publisher, but it’s no bigger risk than choosing to send in submissions to companies like Dark Horse, Image, IDW, and so on.
Tell Your Story.
Let us be Your Starting line.

Would you be willing to buy finished comics and claim 100% of future sales?

It’s an interesting proposal. Definitely something to think about, depending on what you’re looking for in terms of cost.
Feel free to email me a few pages as a sample, and the other requested materials that I stated. We may be able to work something out if possible.
