Theory essay: Untangling Comics

Untangling Comics, my undergrad thesis is available on-line now. It picks up a paradigm from film theory and applies it to comics. I think it covers a lot of ground and I hope it does a reasonably good job doing so.

However, it's pretty long (printed out, it was 43 pages or so). If you don't have the time/energy to read it, maybe you will have an opportunity to come by the Comic Arts Conference at the San Diego Comic-Con, where I'll be presenting a paper based on one chunk of this thesis.

But I'd be very interested to hear what people think. I've been working on this in near-isolation for 5 months, so it would be good to get feedback from other theory wonks.

Cheers.

Well, his death brought me joy, so I guess it was all worth it.
