My thesis advisor dropped me a note pointing towards McSweeney's 13, and I picked it up this weekend. It's pretty great. It's going to be my new go-to loaner for people who are just being introduced to comics, as it does a pretty good job of roughly sketching the terrain of North American literary cartooning -- hell, it even comes with two minicomics.
