I was just sent a link to <A Target="new" HREF="http://historywired.si.edu/index.html">History Wired</A> and find myself really excited about the implications of this type of navigation and information retrieval experiment for the development of our fabled "Infinite Canvas".
I have no deep thoughts, just thought this very cool and wanted to share.

I like this a lot. Not only for the zoom-abilty, but also for the ticks (footprints of where you have been) but also for the simple yet ingenious yellow lines pointing to related categories.
It would be nice if there was a place like javascripts.com or flashkit.com where people that had made huge amazing interfaces like this could post them, for use by others and then we could download them, tweak them to our own uses, fill them with our content, and then repost them.
I'd actually pay/rent (yes, money) for a pre-programmed infinte canvas which I could then go loose on.
