Ha, Scott understands sleeping on the sofa.
He should be so lucky! No sofa here! We ordered a sofa from Jennifer's Convertibles in August. Despite them having our money, and promising delivery on Sept. 20, we have yet to get our couch. We are now looking at an Oct. 13th delivery, then it's straight to the sofa for him.

OK, not really. I just wish I looked more like the women (girls?) he is pimping in the picture.

Buckaroo Bonzai?!? I didn't see that one and I just went back through all the postings to be sure.

By the way, Greg, several of the images have disappeared (of course, this may just be my machine) and they don't seem to be in your "Scott Understands ..." archive. I know you have much more important things to do with your time, but perhaps you could solicit the missing images from their authors for inclusion in the archive and we'd all be in your debt even more than we already are, which is saying a lot.

Thanks!!!

I've been saving each image as it appears, but haven't uploaded them to my archive, yet. I will, so no worries there.

I'm also confused about the Buckaroo Banzai comment. Perhaps she's thinking of the Back to the Future one? Or maybe somebody should do a BB one. After "Understanding the 3rd Dimension" and "Understanding the Fifth Dimension" I'd say we could use an "Understanding the 8th Dimension."
Good morning! That's a nice tnetennba.

Sorry--I thought the 'electricity' one looked like John Lithgow in BB. Maybe I am just having a blonde moment.

Now that you mention it, I can see the resemblance, although it's far from overwhelming.

I would say that you were having not so much a "blonde moment" as a "everyone should be able to understand this private reference that is now so well established in my mind that I don't even think twice about it" moment. Of course, since this name is not at all cactchy, this is not a widely recognized "moment", but it is one I suffer from fairly often.

i saw that greg already said, that all pictures are saved. besides i wanted to add, that all pictures, which are down, were from william g, who, if i got that right, had some server trouble himself. so you can expect the pictures to be back up at some point anyway.

Speaking of references which are so interalized that others may not get them, who else has the urge to yell out, "Doctor Scott!" after seeing that?

Also, nice likeness of Jakob Nielsen.

Yeah. Was going to write a paragraph about stuff, but thought the comic was usable as is.
Also, nice likeness of Jakob Nielsen.
Thanks!

Well guys, my pics have all gone the way of the dodo since I didnt keep backups of them on my harddrive when the servers got switched.

Thankfully, Greg has saved them, so we're all better people for it.

Well, only Scott can answer this definitively for you, but I seem to recall (but cannot find) a post to his blog that working on his next book would be taking up considerable amounts of his time.

Kris, I drew this I swear. I went through the last few pages and realized that I never uploaded it. I must of forgot and now I can't find the file. Oh well, I'll guess I just have to redo it. Or maybe the joke is over now.

Greg, are you still grabbing them? Going through these pages I had this thought: Someone should take all of our panels and print up a benefit book for the CBLDF. I mean Neil Gaiman just received his own convention. Where's Scott's convention? Where's Understanding Scott McCloud 2004? At the very least, where is the benefit book?
