I think the answer to Micorpayments will be in your Internet Service provider. Say, when you set up your INternet connection, you have an option to have a "digital wallet" wherein, you can do one click buying, instead of entering your info over and over again. You'd simply get your purchases added to your ISP billing. It would only work if you could buy things as little as 10cents- and it was a one click buy button on your browser. Give it 5 years and you'll see this approach.

Good thoughts. I'm WAY behind the curve on this one, but Jakon Nielson's Alertbox from December 23 discussed the future of micropayments and compares the concept to how we already pay for long-distance phone service or electricity.
