when submitting your online comic site to search engines, what catagory does everyone use? (assuming people still use search engines...)

it seems like there is no "online comics" category at yahoo. can we remedy this somehow?

Before I address your statement I would like to ask what category you used?

---
now on to the "academic stuff":

...that's a tricky question that could start another looooooooong discussion.

I understand what you are saying, and agree with you that in theory it would be better not to seperate comics from online comics. Doing so might make some kind of statement about something or other, probably having to do with online comics not being "real" or "valid". (I don't know if this is what you were talking about, though... I could be wrong, not only about this, but about everything.)

But for purposes of clarity I think it would be great to have a seperate category. It would make searching for online comics a lot easier, and it would also help bring the desired audience to your site.

The major point for me personally are those two things

1) Making it easy to find online comics
2) Helping your target audience find your site.

There, I put numbers in front of my ideas so now you know that they must be important.

with yahoo I think I put it under comics and animations, but it has never shown up. I remember a couple of search engines that did have and online comic catagory, I don't remember which off hand.

As for seperating from print comics, I didn't think that is such a bad idea. I think the biggest problem is people being unaware of online comics rather than them being inferior. The inferior stigma will pass eventually too.
