spiderweb, I know I told you I didn't have time for this, but I couldn't resist.

I am in the middle of moving and my art supplies are packed. So I did this with a ball point pen at the kitchen table while my wife was trying to set it for dinner. Comics first!

Hi,

Hope you don't mind if I jump in here. I've been wanting to play around with an animated gif for a comic I'm working on. This gave me a chance to play around with it.

Welcome aboard, Chris :D
Thanks for your panel, it's very interesting and fun to see an animated gifs around here :)

Just a little note though, I notice that at the end of the animation, there's a little blue box appearing somewhere at the word "logorrhea". Was that intentional?

Chris, seems like it's a transparent box. When I tried to upload your gifs to the beensprouts site, the box turned green which happens to be the background color of the website.

I just realised that we are at the last panel for the first 10 panel jam, Hooray!!! :D

Anybody interested to submit the LAST panel?? Preferrably have some sort of ending, the FINALE :P

Anyway, might as well mentioned that I am thinking about the themes for the next 10-panel jam.

Here it goes..
Everybody dreams. Nightmares, sweetdreams, daydreams...
Some are fantasy-like, some are dramatic, others are awfully frightening...
What are your thoughts and feelings about that dream? Why not try to visualise and present it in your artwork to share with everyone? It'll be very fun if each one of us can come up with a panel of our dreams :)
Basically, the same rule applies. Your panel should be based on Word Of the Day.

Tell me what you think, ok?

logorrhea

Post by chrisSturhann »

Hi all,

I think I fixed the problem, more or less. Turns out there was an extra frame at the end that was causing the problem. I not real familiar with the program I was using, and it was the first time I tried doing something like this with it.

Originally, the last frame was the same as the second to last, except that I changed the color of the text "logorrhea" to red. But I didn't like it. It looked too much like an annoying banner ad.

I'm still not entirely happy with it. A couple of times while making the file I grabbed an object (the shirt) and inadvertantly moved it, so it shifts slightly. Also because I went back and edited the last frame after I had saved as a gif and lost my layers. The last word balloon isn't antialiased.

If get ambitious, or if my boss leaves early, I'll remake it today.

Anyway, I reloaded the more-or-less fixed file, so it's better now. If I do fix it again, I'll post here to let you know.

Thanks

Chris

Chris, may I know what software are you using for the animated gifs? I have tried to create some animation using Animation Shop but I didn't really like some of the features and the animation wizard seems kinda restrictive and awkward. The effects are limited too.
Please tell me if you come across any nice ones.

Hope you don't mind me linking your latest gifs here.

Next up: Netart- Dreams and Fantasies

Post by Guest »

While waiting for the 'finale' panel for the first 10-panel jam, I simply couldn't resist working on the theme for next 10-panel :P

Netart: Dreams And Fantasies

Everybody dreams. Nightmares, sweetdreams, daydreams...
Some are fantasy-like, some are dramatic, others are awfully frightening...
What are your thoughts and feelings about that dream? Why not try to visualise and present it in your artwork to share with everyone? It'll be very fun if each one of us can come up with a panel of our dreams.

Basically, the same rule applies. Select one of the word from this list as inspiration for your artwork.

This is another very cool artwork by Simeon Liebman, I loved it :)

Great theme. I like your combination of the word of the day and a theme. It was tough coming up with a first panel that had both direction and openness. By the way, my panel referred to Sacco and Vanzetti, the two anarchists who were unfairly tried, convicted, and executed for murder in part because they were immigrants. Is anyone working on a final panel? If not, I'll start.

One question. Should these dream panels be working off one another - a tough task. If so I'll try to dream accordingly tonight.

for the dreams, it needs to be based on Word of the day+your dream ;P Let your imagination go wild! :D
