Just posted this in the Magic Inkwell thread and it occurred to me that it deserved its own topic.

<a href="http://www.comic-con.org/pages/APE2002w ... >A.P.E.</a> will take place in San Francisco February 9-10.

Here are the Web Cartoonists I know about who are planning to attend:

Also planning to attend is Paige Braddock, whose Jane's World comic can be seen at http://www.girltwirlcomics.com/ (it's a web-original comic, although it is in traditional daily strip format.)

And I'll have a table. Danged if I know whether the things I've done qualify me as a web cartoonist or not!

I would love to go to this kind of thing!!! But, unfortunately I cannot go this year.

Is there going to be some sort of coverage of the event on the internet?

surely with the amount of tech geeks there is now in webcomics (myself included, of course!) there's gotta be SOMEONE who could record our doings on a DV camera.... and broadcast it on the web?!

if i had the cash, i'd have the equipment and do it myself! unfortunately, i don't.

oh well.

By the way, I am looking for a roommate for APE; I've got a two-queen-bed room at the Travelodge for Friday and Saturday, paying $85+tax per night, so if someone wants to take half of that, I'd be happy!

well, it looks like i won't be able to make it after all....

many reasons. a pregnant cat. i'll have just gotten back from a week of Flash/dreamweaver training in austin for work. haven't been able to square away a plane ticket and work out my transportation kinks. want to use the money to mail out APPLESAUCE, fix my car, beef up my computers. most of all though, the few things i could fix so that i could go will be impossible because i'll be in austin for almost a week with no real computer/email access. so...

maybe next year.

have fun, those of you that ARE going, and hope to see you at sandy eggo and SPX!!

Hey, who's going to APE next year? Is it too soon to start talking about this? I just found out that I can go. Which is a big deal since I live in Japan and the only time I go to the states is to visit my family, who live in Texas. I never thought that I would be able to take a trip to the states just for anything besides visiting the family, but here I am, already making plans for APE!! Whoopie! Who else is going?

I'm also thinking about showing my mini comics and stuff to publishers at APE. Anyone have any suggestions for showing art / trying to find work at a convention?

I saw that this year they have a panel called "What Publisher's Want" all about how to get a job in comics. But once you show up there and attend the panel, it's too late to change your presentation! (unless it is something you can fix there)
