|Starting July 8, 2002, the Webcomics Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan and The Pantheon will cross-over in an ambitious, month-long story running on the Pantheon site.
During their quest for the Towel of Douglas Adams, Kel (of Clwyd-Rhan) and Satan (of Hell, naturally) find themselves transported into each others' worlds. While Satan finds Clwyd-Rhan to be a rather unfriendly place for a demon, Kel discovers that Arcadia can be a little *too* friendly, especially for a cute half-elven mortal.
From opposite ends of the globe, Australian cartoonist Timmerryn and Dutch cartoonist Reinder Dijkhuis drew "Even in Arcadia" together, emailing each other their contributions over a period of several months. What started out as a neat idea to fill a few webcomic updates with turned into an ambitious, book-length crossover - a month's worth of supersized daily episodes in full color.
The two comics that cross over in "Even in Arcadia" are both fantasy- and pagan-oriented, and both are influenced by Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, ancient mythology and folktales. But there are also differences: Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan has a tightly-inked line and CG colors, whereas The Pantheon, until recently at least, had a friendly, pencil-based look. Instead of compromising their unique styles for a harmonious whole, the artists chose to emphasise the difference between the two styles in order to show the strangeness of the two characters appearing in worlds in which they don't belong.
