This is weird.
I work in the I.S. department at a large distributor (books, movies, music, etc..). Anyway I have this list of home phone numbers in my wallet of various I.S. staff and management. Today I had to call Chris, the guy who work last night, to ask him a question about the UPS.
Conversation is a follows:
Chris: Hello
Me: Hey Chris, how's it goin?
Chris: Not bad. What's up?
Me: I need to ask you a question.
Chris: OK
Me: Did Libert come out and change the batteries in the UPS yesterday?
--silence--
Chris: um, could you repeat that?
Me: Did they change the batteries in the UPS last night?
--silence--
Chris: I'm sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about.
Me: This is Chris, right?
Chris: Yep.
Me: Chris C*****s
Chris: nope
-- I look down at my list of numbers and ask: --
Me: ok? ah is this #3# - 1432 ?
Chris: yes
Me: do you know a Chris C*****s?
Chris: nope
Me: um, I'm sorry. I guess I have the wrong number.
Chris: that's all right.
--I hang up the phone--
I then go over and look up Chris's number on the database in the system and see that the correct number is #2# - 1432 !
They were one digit off. Two people named Chris that sounded exactly the same. Except that one of them now thinks that a loony is calling him up an asking "what's the frequency, Kenneth." |

Another proof that intentions are only a guideline and never anything that would be ultimately determing anything besides ourselves. God is great. _________________ zerofoks @ the Radical Artist Foundation |
