I don't write a lot here about my World of Warcraft gaming (or any other subject these days, it is true), but I've been a pretty avid player since its release date in 2004. With the arrival of the WoW expansion, The Burning Crusade, I've suddenly found less free time than I'd had a week ago. Journeying into the Outland and resuming questing has been a lot of fun. New places to find, new creatures to see and new dungeons to explore are all good but, like most everyone else I know, starting a character as the new Blood Elf race is a must. And since they can be the Paladin class, which was formerly restricted from the Horde, that's how I'm going.
One of my current projects is to video each level ding for this character. So far, I've got them. I might miss a couple, but out of 70 levels, I'll be happy to have most of them. Here's a video of the first 10:
By the way-- The character's name? Bowie.
You were expecting something different?
Why was Tarzan's chimp companion named Cheeta? Wouldn't this have messed up the poor ape to be one species, but named after another? Don't you think he would have grown up a little different from the other chimps? It seems to me a cruel jape to play upon an innocent.
Good news! The groundhog did not see his shadow. Bill Murray must be ecstatic.
Wow. The Academy Awards were held last night and I didn't even know until I'd checked Google News this morning. Looks like it was a big night for Martin Scorsese, who finally got an award. I haven't seen the winning picture, The Departed, but did pick it upon DVD last week, so maybe I should rectify that. It'll have to be after I finish watching Season 1 of Family Ties on DVD, though. You just can't beat Michael J. Fox.
It was also a good night for Little Miss Sunshine and Pan's Labyrinth, the former I have seen and the latter I would like to have seen, but haven't yet. It's nice to see the Academy leaning in the general direction of interesting films like these rather than handing Dreamgirls a bunch of awards, but since I haven't seen that one either, I guess I can't make an informed judgment on their relative quality.
While the awards were happening, I had traveled back in time to Old Hillsbrad with a small party of companions to rescue Thrall from the Infinite Dragonflight. Time flies when you're playing World of Warcraft.
