Doing one per month, I really don't have to be quick. It doesn't take too long, though. Maybe 10-15 minutes to do an initial sketch (I never sketch unless I have an idea, so I don't count the thinking stage). 20-30 to cut the bristol and do the pencils. 30-40 minutes to ink. Load time is the curse of the web... 350 K seems fairly reasonable for a JPEG of that size and texture, although I think that tweaking could reduce it a bit.
