One of his personalities will end up dating one of HER personalities.
Or, perhaps she IS one of his other personalites.
Or he one of HERS.

Casting a wide net.

Which might be why we are oftern surprised or offended when actors do speak their own words. We get to know them through the roles they play. It's hard for anyone to sound as clever in day to day speech as they do reciting lines someone spent months refining. Too often, though, it seems actors (mean...

It's "The Amoeba's at home!" .

Well, it's been about a year. Time for the whole "Is this a comic" debate?
I'm not playing this time ;)

I see how that post could be easily misunderstood.

I've changed jobs 3 times, bought a house, sold a house, bought a house.

I still have both children!

And the wife.

Lost a cat along the way.

Anyway, just one house. ;)

It's intended for the web, because that's an affordable distribution medium. I'm planning a layout that could be printed, but I will side with Web layout demands. Really, it's intended for film. See, I do the poorly drawn comic then 3 major studios vie to option the rights to my characters and stori...

So, Rip, do you hold your paper up with one hand and draw with the other? Seriously.

Do you tape down your page?

I am so ignorant in the ways of the comics Jedi.

Ah the joys and trials of having a big part of your audience as interested in the form of comics as you are. I really like the piece so far Scott. I too really thought the zooming worked well for the panels near the end of part 2. It's a really great device when it supports the narrative like that. ...

Hmmm. I whore myself full time and try to do some comics on the side. The whole art irony thing is infuriating: You have a good job you can buy reference tools, materials, web space etc, but you have no time. You serve the fickle mistress of art and you have lots of time, but spend a lot of it worry...

What's your angle?

OK, all you art school types. What is the prescribed angle for your drawing board. I know, this is another personal preference thing, but is there a guideline?

Thanks!

Hey there Ivy.

Welcome to um, ...the forum...and stuff. Or, I mean, um, welcome to your identity in posts in the forum. Or... um, I guess just welcome.

Oh man! I suck at this part!

Hey Ben! Your idea is more Scott-like than you know. One of the exercises in Scott's class... www.fifthdigit.com/comics (Check out MCAD Journal)...he had us each write a title and then pass the paper to a neighbor. I think it was a 15 minute exercise. The comic I scrawled in class was fun, if not en...

Yeah, those are more good examples of lampooning sloganism. But I was asking, in a silly way, can anyone offer a good slogan for the way things "really should be" - in their opinions. Does the "right" way of conducting ourselves as a nation defy sloganizing? Is it too complex to relate in a simple t...

Hmmm.

I wonder what the "proper" strategy tag line should be. If not "Peace Through Strength" perhaps "Peace Through Weakness" no, no, that doesn't work. "War through Weakness" Well, maybe, but that wont sell. "War Through Strength" Hmm. I guess you may need War to restablish Strength if you've been doing...

Oh , yeah, sorry! I loved your work on the new comic. You render human beings very well!

There is a touch of Eisner in some of your figures, especially the panel with the boy clutching his mother at the hospital saying he's scared.

Really beautiful stuff.

Neat.
The Tarot cards could deal out randomly when the reader comes to the page. I have Cold Fusion running on my server, you could probably do it with PHP (not sure) too.

Mabe standardize the dimensions. I dunno.

New Loose Change Cartoon

Hi gang. Well, I have made the most of my holidays and seem to have been able to update my comics site almost *gasp* weekly for the last month. It wont last ;) Back to the grind. There is a new Loose Change cartoon available for viewing. As always, feedback (of any kind) welcome. www.fifthdigit.com/...

Ha! I really like the strip. My kind of humor all the way. The infamous 'pause panel' has been debated to death on this board. I like the beat as a device of style. While they could exist as two-panel comics, I think much of the humor is in the beat... Great stuff. Clever writing. Thanks for sharing...
