We Like the Moon

Scott,

I looked at this thing just before I went to bed last night.

And I will never, ever forgive you.

Did the Monster Hollow stuff find a new home online? Wouldn't mind reading some more of it. Monster Hollow is running on Bill's web site, www.dunktank.ca. The first episode is up now, and the Archive has teaser images for the next several stories -- it looks to be a lot of fun. [plug]For more of Bi...

I find it odd that "Take Two, They're Small" is showing as an early leader right out the gate, while "If Only I'd Bought Two" is among the trailing losers. What makes the one so much more interesting to people than the other? I'd love to see what happens if they come out in a tie (or, for that matte...

Re: dreams

Hmm, on second thought, he did steal her dreams, because it seems that she dreams about toys. That would actually support her seemingly materialistic character. The object of adult greed is money...and lots of it. The object of greed for children is toys...and lots of 'em. I'm going to disagree her...

My top choice is one of the two cheif contendors, but my second choice was "Exclamation Mark." I was disappointed to see how poorly that one has done. But I do have a soft spot for punctuation.

Re: Aww....

That was much less violent than I would have made it. I was expecting to see a more Wild Kingdom kind of end to Mr. "Dummyhead." Maybe a quick chomp, and then tossed up in the air to be positioned for the coup de grace. And then BITE ! And down the gullet. I think the important difference here is t...

I dropped my .99 in very early on, and have been kind of regretting it. Every time my title falls behind, I want to vote again, but sadly that is against the rules.

Re: Well here's what I think.

The choices offered to today's youth are staggering by comparison. With the state of comics and animation slowly-but-surely maturing, and with the world of manga and anime exploding into the American market (as represented by our Totoro-sporting young'n,) things must be tough for Frank. The favorit...

I certainly wouldn't balk if another creator's character walked into a story holding a copy of Understanding Comics under their arm, or wearing a Zot! t-shirt. I read a book the other day that had a character wearing what I initially thought was a Zot! t-shirt. On comparison, though, I found I was ...

Here in New York, we've had to put up with crappy FM radio for years. I've been around other markets in the country, and heard their stations, and have heard stories from others; and I've come to one conclusion: New York has the most rigidly, corporate, formula programed radio stations in the natio...

Actually, in many movies, the company who owns the brand-name in question usually pays the studio for the afore mentioned product placement. It's free advertising. Sometimes the companies are weird about it though. I had a play produced at my school recently which included "The Poland Spring Guy" a...

Modern Tales Longplay "Stream of Consciousness Comics&a

Cool new issue of Modern Tales Longplay -- and I'm in it! I hope you'll check it out. Press release below. April 21, 2003--'All art begins in the mind, but some artists settle to stay there. They trade concrete for subconscious, daytime for dream-time, common knowledge for a brief glimpse of the unk...

Right now I'm doing comic strips. I feel that I do not have the experience or the disapline to draw a daily comic strip for one of those sydication type deals that run in newspapers. However, what I have been struggling with is where do I get that experience without actualy doing? Why can't there b...

Put it in the alt tag, or meta description, or even as tiny text the same color as your background. Actually, be careful about putting too much text in the same color as your background -- because so many porn sites used to inflate their hits by putting long lists of unrelated text in the same colo...

It troubles me that one of the most frighteningly creepy tones I have ever seen accomplished in comics is found in the context of a non-fiction piece ostensibly about meta-comic theory. I've always found your work fascinating, Merlin, but this is the first time I've found it truly engrossing. To my ...
