Sorry I've been so quiet lately about Making Comics. I'm actually working 11 hours a day on it, but the lead time is so long (publication won't be until late '06) that I haven't felt the need to rush any previews out. In a few months, I might start to post a bit more. Until then -- back to the old d...

And Winter and Summer for that matter. ^^

Yup, Making Comics (the new book) will indeed have a short "Understanding Manga" section. And yeah, U.C. is in about 15 languages at this point. I even visited Korea in '03. Kim Nak ho helped arrange both the translations and the trip. Good guy. The Korean edition looks nice, but the Japanese is the...

For a number of reasons, I would rather there not be McCloud convention. Though I appreciate the thought.

As for the book. Still thinking online is best for the reasons cited above.

Personally, I think it would be cool to just maintain a permanent online gallery -- just a slightly more elaborate version of Greg's archive maybe. Maybe something with a big thumbnail front page, and a little submission page with a space for comments. If you start to go toward print, you'd have to ...

I'm sorry, Wild Goose, I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what I'm doing wrong here. I'm not asking anyone to pay for anything, or claiming a license on anything. I'm not claiming to have created anything directly except the original 24-hour comics idea in 1990 (whatever your friends may have t...

AAK! Turns out the onstage talk with Will Eisner is THURSDAY (not Friday) at 7 PM in Miami Dade College's Wolfson Center Gallery, Room 1365. TONIGHT in other words. I'm so so sorry if any of you receive this message too late. What with the Vegas trip back-to-back with Miami and the recent Hurricanes...

Today's panels looked kinda weird, and that's when I realized: 'Mimi' is now wearing long sleeves where she was just wearing short sleeves... continuity is in error - *gasp* Um, actually I'd intended that to look like one of those tight, buttoned sweaters which we'd assumed she'd just put on prior ...

You're the first! Yes, most assured-LEE, that was the source for the "missus" comment. Always loved that musical. The image of cranky, disliked John Adams bellowing to an indifferent room has been a comfort on many a lonely crusade for Yours Truly. Sad that De Silva didn't make it onto the Broadway ...

No, the panel was missing. Not because I didn't draw it in time. I FORGOT TO UPLOAD IT!!

I thought it was fine until I came home and Ivy asked my why there was no update.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I was pretty useless yesterday while recovering from the whatever-it-was. Still a bit woozy, but at least I can see straight. In answer to the current question: Yes, the Intermediate zooms are manually added via an invisible large "panel" in the bg. I'm a bit behin...

At this early stage, The Tarquin Engine is basically a template in Flash that I can make changes to. So yes, I just used Merlin's loading bit and screen size by leaving it alone. I even swiped his html to an extent because I was having trouble getting the table around the .swf file to render correct...

Thanks for the suggestions. This week is pretty crazy, but I'll consider some of the ideas here in the coming weeks. To answer Alexander's question. The rejected titles do currently go back in the pot, but I've been culling them out for now during the random drawings. I tend to prefer the idea of a ...
