I might be breaking into open doors, here, but I'm convinced truth and clarity shouldn't be opposed to eachother. In Scott McCloud's view the basic elements of "high comicing" are FORM and CONTENT: When you create what is considered ART, either you have a message about the medium*, or have a message...

Can I change my "username"?

I'm known to this forum as "Yingo", but as a comics artist I've started using the name/pseudo "InkAddict".

Is there any way to change it? (My site will be called InkAddict, and at my blog I sign as InkAddict…)

Back online! Back in business!

A big hello to everyone! I've been a rabid contributor to this forum for a while, and lost track some time ago (busy finishing my studies, finding a job, then lost my internet connection for about 6 months) but I'm back! I'm trying to set up my website which will eventually host my comics, and my "s...

I'm using the aforementioned little program because I've got quite a busy schedule (with exams and deadlines) so I don't have the patience to sift through my html, but I can't do anything else either (having no access to advanced scripting etc...)

...and... (because I've had similar questions once ;) )... a "weblog" is something like an online journal, regularly updated (not my case yet, though), so they have to be easily updatable, and can even be a "joint effort", as with the mother of all blog communities, Metafilter

EASY & CHEAP solution to get your own comics online

I'm starting this comic because I found out how to publish my comics and it has taken me some pains and nervous breakdowns no-one has to go through. First of all: "webspace" I've tried a number of free hosting solutions, and never got my site "off the ground"... Main reasons: *Some hosts are just "h...

However, with the baby on our way, we have lots of childrens books that will perhaps re-educate her to read comics better. At least I'm glad "pictures" are no longer seen as a "shortcut" to "actual reading"... I used to hear quite a few people say that "comics" tend to turn people (at least slightl...

Nice!... Beautiful site design too! A little closer to the strength of your B & W shading,... I personally like Mr. Creeps quite a lot,... only, I still have the feeling his story hasn't been told ... yet! How did he become this way, what's his relation to that girl, is he *really* aware of his situ...

I find that with most comics, there is a "set" of rules you just follow, and it's more the "habit" of following the same rules, that makes you feel "at ease"... As a bigtime comic reader (I used to read *5* *46-page* comics per day for *two* years), I can handle about anything... but now I find I ge...

EIGHT of these eBooks are help yourself become a successfull person, one is the Bible [...] It seems the people buying eBooks are business men, on the way up WASP kind of people. And maybe some wannabees. IMHO the "real" successful people (i.e. the ones making money) aren't those reading & buying t...

If you've read the excellent Peter Pan series by Loisel (go check it out!), there is a behind-the scenes book of the entire first albu...

I've been working on about the same problem too: I wanted a site that looked "clean" (no "frames"), and archived everything. Also I didn't want to spend hours feeding HTML into BBEdit pages... I've started investigating Blog software... I've found them quite handy, and am using iBlog from Lifli Soft...

Some things worth considering:... In the 1910's up to the 1950's, some sports journalists were known to draw small comics in newspapers to explain what happened on the field. The artist who did the first Tarzan comics (forgot his name... Hogarth?) started out like this, I heard... This was mainly be...

I'm sure there are many guys and gals here on zwol.org who wouldn't mind helping.

It seems there is but one flaw in his reasoning: Paypal systems buried only two layers deep don't work, unless you've got some real Freaks/Fans willing to "support". It's like giving away fruit for free on a market with dozens of other fruitsellers, then asking someone to pay because that way the fr...
