Issue #3 out this week, concluding the story.

I suppose it's possible a trade paperback of the entire miniseries may be available later this year, but that's just a guess.

Many 24-hour comics border on experimental (and others just jump in the deep end), so I think this example fits well within the tradition. As to using Tarquin for less experimental narratives, I thought that- for all its hyperlinking style- the PoCom-UK-001 comic was very traditional. Perhaps only t...

Yah, emoticons definitely lend toward what I'm talking about. They're quite a lot like the gestures we use with speech. I get grumpy about emoticons the same way I get grumpy about a lot of "net-speak" abbreviations. Shakespeare didn't need emoticons. Your point about them being similar to gestures...

I dunno. The whole concept of using cell phones for much other than simply phones doesn't thrill me. I think they are a tool almost entirely unsuited to display or distribute comics (small, low-resolution screens; incredibly poor user interfaces; low bandwidth). Probably because I'm getting older an...

I didn't really think much of Alan David Doane's list , but I thought it was just because I'm contrary. Or maybe a snob. It's hard to tell the difference, sometimes. I also thought that a list of 100 things somebody likes about comics should have contained fewer blanket references to comics or comic...

Now that's what the old folks from the home like to call a "necro-post." Figuratively digging up the dead. I had no idea what "Trek" episode you were talking about, since I couldn't find the word Trek on the page at all. What does Star Trek have to do with a bunch of people pointing out how terrible...

Oh, you can't make this stuff up. To corroborate these covers, take a quick trip to the Grand Comics Database at http://www.comics.org and check the issues in question. For example, you can easily verify the cover to the first example on that Supermans page by calling up the entry for Superman's Gir...

A note on crosshatching: I think Scott's points are still dead-on. Remember that the monitor that a reader is using isn't the main issue with being able to properly replicate an image. The real pitfalls are the compression used in the image file, the image file size and (yes, even now) bandwidth. Sc...

I only really use some kind of proportional construction method for heads and faces. For bodies, I try to visualize what the pose should be and draw what I see. On the other hand, anatomy has never been something I'm very good at.

As you can see, this isn't really the best place to discuss the Teen Titans cartoon and the members here have a wicked sense of humor.

I would suggest using Google to find a more appropriate location. There are many such places.

Good luck!

I don't think that would work though. It's so bizarre a thing to do that I'm sure nobody would be dumb enough to even reply. Right. Quite apart from the speed issue (not limited to the readers, either, since server speed can also be a problem) is bandwidth. If you make images too large and get a link from a bigger site, you may find that you've used up your bandwidth allotment and have to pay your webhost provider for the overag...
