Nope. Isn't Pressure = sensitivity? In which case the chart indicates that it is supported in Photoshop Elements & Photoshop 7. Pressure is supported in my PE 2.0 with my Wacom. Tilt sensitivity is sensitivity to the angle the pen's being held at. Pressure sensitivity is sensitivity to how hard the...

Personally, I'm still on dial-up. I think something like half the British home internet users still are (broadband was slow arriving here thanks to British Telecom's foot-dragging). I love Ballad too, and I'd have a hard time reading it if it had more than one image a page. I already have a hard tim...

Image file-size

Any opinions on what the biggest acceptable file-size for a single webcomic-strip or page is? I know it'll depend on how much patience and what type of connection you expect your audience to have. I've been trying to stick to a maximum of 110Kb for comicbook-page size images, but that's mainly becau...

Maybe you could start by getting someone to act as "editor"; get them to give their opinion of the story and anything that might improve it.

Online Comics gives thumbnail pictures of the comics it lists. That might speed up your search.

There are the Wacom Cintiq tablets, which seem pretty good according to this review. Quite expensive, though, and the review warns that they're somewhat breakable.

I tried different browsers: the link works fine in Internet Explorer 6, but Firefox gives 404. I think it's the backslash in the "issue1\page1" bit of the URL - Explorer converts it into a forward slash, which makes the link work. If you change it to a forward slash in the page code then I think it'...

What about bank accounts with Visa or MasterCard-enabled debit cards? I'd think that those would be able to function properly (if not today, then soon). I gather you can use Switch debit cards with Paypal. Here in Britain the Post Office has made a deal with Napster to sell download vouchers. That'...

Re: not just about time to create

we need to get people to see our work, we need to lift webcomics out of the tiny obscure niche That's been on my mind a bit. A strip in a paper is put before the eyes of all the paper's readers, who might enjoy and start following it even if they don't have a general interest in comics. A strip jus...

Hypothetical question, inspired by too much sugar

Suppose I was owed a favour by a mad scientist or high-power business guy or magic trout or whatever, and I wanted them to do something for the cause of webcartoons and webcartoonists in general. What would be the best thing to ask for?

The comic's coming back this November. In the meantime Steve's running some Melonpool comic-books he did in 1994; he's already put the first issue up "retroactively" in the archives (you know what a one he is for messing with time), and he'll be putting more pages up daily until the strip starts aga...
