Huge difference. The Flash version will be a muti-directional branching comic. The html will just be the panels as I upload them. Some transitions won't make sense in the html. I might eventually put the html in a mirroring table layout but I can't do that until it's all done, cause I don't know wha...

NON-Flash "version" of Mimi's Last Coffee
Here's a <a href="http://www.scottmccloud.com/comics/mi/mi-26/png/panels.html">Non-Flash version</a> of the panels from <a href="http://www.scottmccloud.com/comics/mi/mi-26/mi-26.html">Mimi's Last Coffee</a> for those of you who can't (or would rather not) install the plug-in. A bit half-baked, but ...

Out of interest, was it drawn in the Flash program? Nope. Those are imported PNG's (like gifs but not owned by stupid, stupid compuserve creatures) that were drawn directly in Photoshop. I considered using Illustrator as a source to get the slick look in Zen Dating and The Right Number, but decided...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Robots Love to Dance was a lot shorter. Just a day per panel most likely, starting around Jan 2. I often take little vacations around Christmas/Channukah/New Year's/Ivy's Birthday. As for the longest improv, I think it would be best to count Meadow of the Damned Parts 1-3 ...

The fact that the index page works was an eye opener.
I found a lot of differences, so I duped the index's head and other relevant code and just brought it in (with a few modifications).
Please tell me if this works now:

Thanks!

Try it now. Any difference? GoLive has this maddening habit of inserting local addresses, such as when I move a document out of a folder; instead of just taking one of my "../"s out, the program lists its absolute location on my friggin' hard drive. Thought I caught those but apparently I missed one...

Sorry for the delayed response. Been a busy week. I think the button is fine. Eventually I'll make some standard button images for convenience's sake, but people are always welcome to roll their own. (I sometimes get emails from people requesting to link to me and use an image to do so and I'm just ...

Actually those two panels: http://www.scottmccloud.com/comics/mi/mi-25/zzz-b3.gif ...were an accident. I only noticed after the linework went in that it looked like a single figure. I even changed the lines somewhat to lessen the effect?though not enough. While it could be interpreted symbolically (...

Good point about story arcs, OUQTURABUT. I do think that story structure (like drawing style) can evolve to the point where some of the initial elements no longer work. The longer the story, the more unlikely that the arc will be a smooth, internally consistent one. As for pre-meditation, the idea t...

Hi Lisa!
Naw, the idea was a sort of pan across a landscape crop, so there had to be some amputations to make it work.
(A complete guide to who's who can be found <a href="http://www.comixpedia.com/modules.php?o ... 8">here</a>

Okay, I'm back. What I was about to say after the link was: As for vincent's question, I think the technique he's referring to is just saving the close-up .jpgs available on pages like this (see my truncated post above for the real link) and asking his OS to blow it up to full screen. I suppose this...
