I live in the NY area as well, and unlike most of my peers, listen to classic rock, and listen to Q104.3. However, I was heartened by the introduction of two new programs, "Out of the Box" and "Little Steven's Underground Garage." The Underground Garage is 2 hours devoted to garage music. Plus, lit...

Because, really, there won't be any more . Warren Zevon: 1947-2003 I must have slipped into an alternate universe, because I thought I heard he died a few months ago. I know he had been terminaly ill for over a year. Maybe the news I heard concerned the release of his farewell album, instead. Eithe...

Holy Un-sacred Cow, I was right for once!

Of course, things might have gone a lot easier if he just called Father Merrin.

At least my dad has an excuse...he's reading the latest issue of Popular Mechanics while he does his business. I'm trying to rember if my dad ever fell asleep while sittin...

Re: Good night, tough guy, we hardly knew ye.

I don't know if Scotts' title was inspired by the quote from Julius Caesar ("The evil that men do lives after them;/The good is oft interred with their bones" -act III, scene II.), the title of the Iron Maiden song ( from what I know of Scott's musical tastes, I doubt it ), or the title of the 1984...

Am I really a nut? Or is it McCloud who is insane...insane with POWER! OK, I'll admit, this joke is wearing a bit thin, but when Fluffy's comment mentioned psychological manipulation, I couldn't resit a goofy reply. That would have been that, but you all kept feeding me inspiration to flesh out this...

Aha! Ahso! Oy Vey!

Don't know how I missed that picture of McCloud's cybernetic hand the first time. But then, such is the evil genius McCloud. Now matter how closely we observe him and his activities, he always manages to distract us somehow. He is indeed a worthy, yet dangerous adversary.

Dude, have you guys seen that picture of his hand ?! Scott's become a cyborg! It won't be long before all your bases are belong to him. Where is this photograph of said robotic hand? I must have it for my files. It will be the proverbial icing on the cake when I present my findings to The Commissio...

Don't listen to Losttoy! He's actualy in cahoots with McCloud. Once McCloud siezes power, he has promised to make Losttoy his Minster of Torture, Collectivization and Deli Sandwiches. From the title panel, I thought this was going to a hard boiled, film noir crime drama.

However, after the first story panel, it looks like the Dover Boys Go To Art School.

I am, however, intrigued, none the less.

Re: The Evil that Men Forget To Do

Scott McCloud added a tiled background to the comic, made up of, apparently, tinted photographic images. A venus flytrap, maybe? Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I hope so. I love stories about carniverous plants, especailly when they're giant man-eaters. Funny, she doesn't look like a Hortence...

Re: rorshach? man! i spell like a 4 year old!

We have concluded that his ultimate goal is no less than World Domination, and that his micro-payments scheme is nothing more that a method for financing his diobolical power grab. I hear he's running for Calfornia Governor. Scott's tyrannical road to power will bypass all democratic channels. It's...

Nah, I think you're on the right track with the stolen dreams.

Looks like Somnivore steals the dreams, and then buries them in the yard; like a dog burying his purloined (sirloin?) bones.

Looks like we need to dig Luna up.

Re: dreams

i guess if she wanted to be like hillary clinton or if she wanted to become president of the united states I guess that's a shorter answer than "I want to marry a clod who becomes President of the United States; sit back while he make a fool of himself; and then try to become president myself." i g...

I think this "panels in progress" thing is really novel. Not only does it let you in on the creative process, but I think it actually adds to the suspense. For instance, today, the panels in progress show some wild action. A toy party perhaps? I don't know quite what is yet, but I can't wait to find...

Re: Scott, how could you?

The effect of the Somnivore is more hideous than anything I could possibly have imagined. That sweet, innocent, young girl has been turned into a (gasp) Republican! That's not so bad. Hey, it could have been worse. She could have said she wanted to grow up to be just like Hillary Clinton. Or Martha...

Re: Beware the switch

I think the oddly-placed light switch is more important than we realized. Is it the switch that someone turns off towards the start of the piece? But, wait, it's on again in the morning, before anyone tries to wake her up! So if it was turned off, who turned it on? And if it wasn't turned off, what...
