The 2nd Annual Cartoonists' Choice Awards!!!

Post by damonk13 »

HI guys!

No, this is NOT just spam -- it's from me, so it CAN'T be spam! :)

But it IS time for the 2nd annual Cartoonists' Choice Awards, so I'm spreading the word to every cartoonist board I frequent, in order to ensure that we get a great and fair representation of voters this year!!

Anywho, it's real simple -- if you're a cartoonist, you can vote for your favorite comics, or those comics that you feel are the best of any genre!

We're currently JUST starting the nomination round (which lasts two weeks), and the cool thing this year is that you get to nominate up to THREE comics per category!

Anywho, the "official press release" will follow, and all you gotta do is follow the instructions, write to the Registration Bouncer (that's me!) at framedcomic@yahoo.ca, and I'll set you up from there!

I hope that ALL of you here will be voting, and a special note: a new category has been added this year to honour those who take advantage of the Digital medium (like Cat! Ganja gods bless his soul! or Merlin!), so it would be great to have all you knowledgable people in on it!

Anywho, I'll post the official press release just under thuis message, so read it all, and I hope to see you registering soon! :D

(if you want to help promote this event, please feel free to grab banners or buttons at the official site, which is listed in the press release! and thanks again!)

[edited 'cause i can't code!]

Open Announcement

It's my pleasure to announce that the nomination round
for the 2002 Cartoonists' Choice Awards is once again
open and ready for your contributions!

Anyone with an online comic is eligible to
participate, but there are some restrictions. It
should be noted that comics with multiple
collaborators would need to choose a representative
for their group since only one voter will be
registered per comic. However, if a group of people
participates in a group of comic series, then each
member of that group can be the representative from
each individual comic title.

There is no restriction on which comics can be
nominated for any category, however the most nominated
cartoonists for each category will be contacted
individually and they must accept their nomination
before it will be announced to the public.

Registered voters can nominate up to three of their
favorite comics in a series of categories. But, it
should also be noted that any ballots with more than 3
nominees in any category would nullify the nominations
made by that person for that category.

The nomination round will continue until May 19th and
the top nominees will be announced by June 2nd when
the final voting round will begin. Votes for the top
nominees will be accepted until June 30th. The
winners will be announced and an online ceremony will
appear on July 7th.

In order to register for voting privileges, please
write to framedcomic@yahoo.ca along with your name and webcomic's URL to request your
nomination instructions. Also watch www.ccawards.com
for more information to come.

Oh, one last thing:

while you can nominate up to three comics per category, multiple nominations for the same webcomic in a single category will count as one nomination only.

Just so ya know... :D
