Okay- I do many a' thing:

I draw comic books, a strip on keenspace, and write a book or two.

I also go to school full time, and work in a bookstore.

I also attempt stand-up comedy every now and again... and this topic inspired be for a bit that had the seats rolling and an encore...and actual encore...and I was at open mike night! (thanks guys!)

It struck me as funny that comic books/strips/novels/anything, and comedians
are both known as comics even though they're way different.

It went something like this...(note, my delivery is very, very hard to put into a printed form)

Hi! my name is Amber and I am a comic artist!
*no laughs*
I am the master of the comic domain that I can make you laugh at my very whim!
*giggle*
I- I am the one true comic god!
*giggle*
Because I can do this!
(pulls out large drawing board and draw out spiderman while humming the superman theme written by john williams)
*silence*
What? it said open mike night for comics. It didn't say anything about being funny!
*rolling laughter*

And from there I went on with the rest of my routine about cars, driving, cell phones, etc...

For the rest of the night I had people walking up to me in the club telling me they never expected that and loved my delivery...

I bring this up- because the word "comics" can mean so many different thinhs, not just "comics" as we're trying to define.

Comics= Cool. Makes me Happy.

personal definition.
