new site design at <A HREF = "http://gazorenzoku.com/top_english.html ... oku.com</A>

now open to harsh criticism (especially in terms of layout, color choice, navigation, etc...)

I await your vicious humiliation!

Sadly, I will not be giving you the humiliation treatment.

There is a time and a place for everything, and this page seems to be both the time and place for your colour and layout choices.

I like it a lot better than your last page; this really suits your work.

Vince, the new colors are great! Much nice, richer. Works much better with your art. I'm sorry, I don't like the type face choice. Comic script tries too hard to be a comicbook font, when it will never be. Try experimenting with a more direct, less decorative font, but have a variety of point sizes, thicknesses. I'd recommend Times New Roman. It's a beautiful font. Very elegant, and will harmonize visually with the color choice. Also Arial. So simple, direct. But doesn't possess the cold harshness Helvetica possesses. Try it and see. If you don't like it, you can switch back.
With humble respect,

For the love of God do not use Arial or Times New Roman unless you have too! While they are both nice fonts they are default fonts in a lot of programs. When people use them it looks like they did not put any thought into what font to use. Like it was said, pick fonts that have a family (i.e. Bold, Italic, Bold Italic versions at least). Sorry if this seems a little extreme but I personally twitch when I see Times New Roman. I apologize if this seems harsh but those fonts were ground out of me by Art Directors so I'm going to try to pass the advice on.

later,
Randy

thanks for the input! Especially from my friend, "Sally" (just kidding). I'll try out some new fonts, and keep all that advice in mind while doing so. Also, I noticed that the link color was kind of off, so I changed it. The problem now is that the links do not change color after you have used them, cause I liked the blood red link color so much I made them like that all the time. Now I have to find a color to go with for links that have already been used, but something that says, "hey, I'm a link and not just colored text"... maybe bloody orange....

I am also going to put up a sort of "cover illustration" type image above the image links to give the site some feel... and maybe something similar on the very most top page (where you choose the language)...

The reason I left it sparse is to give a better download time. But after checking out Cat Garza's site, I really felt that I needed something to give it a little extra pizazz...... still haven't decided exactly what I will do yet, and since I am extremely busy, I might not do anything for a while.....

Anyhow, thank for all the comments. It sure means a lot!

oeps. sorry about that. lol
buisy couple of days. seems that i'm going to newyork in 3 weeks (1week vacation. yay)
guess i missed this one top. but I really like the improvements to the page. you kept the background colour the same 4 most pages, and that's good. you might even want to do that in the story too, though black works fine with the backgound to the page a dif colour. all the pages are 9at least in this browser) the right size for easy reading. your page has all and all turned into something very structured and easily overseen, which makes browsing through it a pleasure, though the artwork itself is a lot more heavy on the mind. lol.
the red suits the mood, and even the green topic letters work fine without becomming too christmassy. and the link pictures are very pretty too, I hava say.
2 minor bugs. your first 2 'drawings' carry the same title (hot for teacher),
and your flyer 1 and 2 are the wrong way around.

I'll give you Times New Roman, since it's a print font and always looks a bit weird on web pages. But Arial? I've nothing against Arial at all.

Arial and it's family (Helvetica, sans-serif etc. )will work on just about any computer you care to view them on. I honestly don't see the point in getting too clever with fonts on a web page without a bit of certainty as to whether or not the people viewing your page will actually have the right font present on their machine.

Arial works on everything and is good, clean and easy to read. I'd say that makes it a pretty good choice.

I just use whatever font is laying around, mostly. All the normal ones look pretty similar.
