I have been trying to figure out what style I should use for my upcoming comic strips, this FlatEarth. Now you can help choose between Black & White, Color, or Grey (and if you vote for grey, please state whether you like the grey tone (dots) or grey scale (smooth).

I have to admit, the line work didn't come out the way I wanteed it to. I wanted it to look like the coming soon image above. It took me hours and hours just to do this one panel and when I put it online it didn't look the way I wanted it to. <sigh>

I jsut have been conflicted on this one ... you see there is one part that says, it is on the web, so why not use the full color aspect that you can not get easily in print (without a big payroll first). Then I think, what if I ever want to print this thing. Maybe submit it to a local newspaper of one of the national syndicates where the dailies tend to be black and white. I also think about the extra time color would take, but yet the grey scale would take extra time too and does the pure line work seem too simple on its own. Then I think about submitting it to one of them online places like Modern Tales or Serializer where color is abound. Yet if I publish them on my own site it will not really matter either way. Then if I ever want to print a collected teasury book, why would people buy the black and white printed copy if they could get the color free online. Ah ... decisions decisions! Not that I really have gotten to far drawing them anyways.
Thanks for your opinions. Did you put your vote on the poll?
