A resident of Queensland, Australia, Weber has this to say about the Aussie comics scene, 'The Aussie Sequential Art scene (that's what?I like to refer to it over here) is kind of a contradicting situation?in a way. Unlike the US system where everybody seems to be in direct competition??with everybody else, Australia is?a?more supportive and tightly knit community. We try to help each other out if we can and generally cheer on those like Ben Templesmith?(Forty days of night),?good mate Christian "Big Daddy"?Read (the?Watch)?Or Jon ?who's?pencilling on Go Boy 7 when they have such great successes or these fanastic ideas. But at the same time, the majority of us are?so far apart?geography wise that we hardly ever see each other except for those rare Sequentail Art conventions that usually happen about once a year in some backwater city.'
