Is the new organizations killing Jams?

Post by Tim Mallos »

I'm wondering if the new organization is contributing to the marked slow down in the 52 Pick Up Jam activity. While you have a pointer link in the Reinventing Art Forum, it does not update when there is a new post to the Jam thread. Might people be assuming that there is no activity in the Jam on the basis of that pointer link?

Just thinking.

I don't know. Mabye. The general consensus seems to be that the 52-pick-up jam is near crumbling under its own weight. At times I think that myself, but I'm not willing to give in just yet. Mabye it is a bit on it's lonesome right now, but we'll see what we can do. I'm trying different things to see what works.

It seems to me that the 52 pickup jam lost it's momentum well before the reorganization. The last time it was really active was just before the major forum overhaul, but the jams didn't get moved until well after that.

Grasping for straws...

Guess I was just grasping at straws! Maybe we'll see a card a month for the next couple of years. ;)

If it comes to that, the jam is probably over. ;)

Still I was hoping we could eventually get to the Ace of Spades.

The thing about projects like this is that even with the best enthusiasm at the start, interest starts flagging, plot gives way to non-sequiters and what is to one person's tast isn't to another's and eventually momentum gives out in favor of entropy. It's the way of the universe. 52 panels is a bit much for a purely voluntery long-form jam.

As I keep saying- we'll see what happens.
