Hmm, I had a seven of hearts ready where he dies again. Now that he's actually relevent to the plot, it seems slightly inappropriate. So- should I post it or not? Greg?

I think you should post it!
Maybe we should leave it out of the story, but if you made it, you ought to show it to the world!

Seems to be a problem with castlezzt.net this morning- I'm not able to see any of those images. Jack- is this a new card or an alternate of the last one?

It's a new one. I was having some problems connecting also, but things seem to have gotten better just now.

Hm. That looks an awful lot like more than one panel, Jack. So, despite your best efforts to kill off poor Jack at every turn (excellent work, though!), I'm going to have to disallow all panels after the first one. This places Jack at a small resturant and the next card is the Six of Clubs!

Not to nit-pick, but when Jack fell in the sewer, didn't the card say that he was never seen or heard from again. I realize, Greg has just established that Jack is apparently able to come back to life as different people -- but doesn't that mean he should actually be a different person now?

I actually tried to draw a card to address this, but it didn't work out, so I just figured I'd share the thought.

As I see it, Jack Diamond never was seen again. If I were to add more panels right away, well, then you'd find out what I think may have happened, but I don't think that Jack Masters' panel really contradicts anything yet. Just leaves it open as to what identity this character will adopt next...

Wow. The playing card formerly known as Jack is like a cat man, like a freakin' cat! Keeps dodgin' the ol' bullet, plenetoid, what have you.

I've been tempted to jump in with another card, but I feel biased re: Jack's fate.

I'll wait a couple more cards before jumping in again.

Has anyone noticed that allowing only the first picture completely erases the only connection to the number seven?

If this doesn't bother anybody, I suggest that Mr Masters re-label the corners of his other six panels right down through A<> and post them, leaving only 14 panels to fight over, and getting this whole game of "did not, did too" over with as soon as possible.

That's true, isn't it? Seven panels for the Seven card... I really hadn't been paying attention. Still, either solution (counting them as one card or renumbering them as many cards) sort of breaks the fundamental- and, I suppose, to this point, not explicitly written- rule that each artist contribute only one consecutive panel at a time. Since I've also set a precident by including only one of Bob Stevenson's beautifully done King cards (submitted way back on page 1 of this post), I'm going to have to hold firm to my previous statement. The story may be getting a bit whimsical and confusing, but I'm sure it can sort itself out presently. If it gets too far off-base, then maybe we can put a mercy-killing to a vote, but I don't think we need to rush to the end just yet.

Maybe Jack can add in six more teacups on the table. You know, to imply that Jack (Diamond, not Masters) had been sitting there contemplating his plight for quite some time.

That'd make everything all hunky-dorey, right?

Hmmm... It could have been a single card with a frome inside each heart in the 7 of hearts.

Good idea. I probably should've done that when I first made the card.

Everybody happy? OK, then- We're still at the Six of Clubs where perhaps we'll discover what happens when the gravitational field of the planet Neptune intersects that of Earth!
