Seeking artists for webcomic

Post by AidnaCalvert »

I am currently working with a writer to create a Fantasy web comic. We will soon be in need of an artist. Black and white will do but color work is preferred. We sadly can't yet pay but we hope to fix that soon enough.

If you're interested or just have questions, please contact me at Aidan_calvert@yahoo.com

can you keep your composure long enough, to endure sessions with an artist, overseeing by the artist's webcam?

i can do rough-draft pencilling, so that a finish artist will have exactly specified sorce material for the webcomic, no guesswork on their part, and no disappointments on your part.

Sounds like a good idea. Still, it doesn't solve my problem of no final artist.

Give me a couple weeks, my writer is drafting the first chapter now.

well, let's hope, that a finish artist will decide in your favor, if they are presented with a ready-made set of panels.

i forgot to ask, exactly what types of characters will be featured in your comic? i don't work on projects that have demonic/occult themes.

Fear not. While not totally devoid of the aforementioned components, they are not a driving force, or overlying theme by any means. Magic is present (as one would expect in a fantasy setting) but rather than it being a mystical force, the phenomenon is explained by science (Pseudoscience, as the system is, as of yet, total B.S.). There are no demons in the story, but in the series it's set in, there are beings that lie along some Parallels to them. I hope this eases your trepidation?

Also, if the occult or Demonic themes put you off, there may be quite a bit of sacrilege. The religious systems in the story basically say that all gods are man made in some respect. However, this is not openly discussed in any story, planned or otherwise.

i'm at my friend's house for the weekend right now, and i should be available tomorrow until 6 or 7am, and then from 6pm-12midnight. Sunday, i should be available from 7pm-12midnight again. so, we can try the webcam thing, just to see how we can collaborate.

I am an artist looking for work on a comic. I have done comics, and fantasy art before. I am quite patient and am not deterred by "dark" story lines - however that does not mean I'm ok with drawing anything. I would like to know more about the story- and I'm sure you would like to see some of my artwork. I'm currently at work, but when I get home (in about an hour or two) I will send a link to a webpage with some of my older work on it if you are still looking for an artist for the position. Thank you for your time!

dbppres: I've actually seen your work before wile I scoured the interntet for artists. There's a level of detail that I'm looking for and i'm not too sure that it would translate well from your preliminaries to the final work. We can see when the first chapter get's to me, and I hope you can deliver.

Dazean: I'd love to see your work and to tell you about my story. E-mail me and we'll talk! Aidan_calvert@yahoo.com

if we do collaborate, then i have switched my messenger service-of-use, to www.chatforfree.org , because it allows for faster cam feeds. my account there, is either sportcamguy1, or sportscamguy.
