Geeky Book of Horror
Geeky Comics are creating a book of the best horror artists from around the world (including some from our own titles). The title is aimed at exposing the talent that many people do not get the chance to see - when completed it will be A4 format, roughly 80 – 100 pages and full colour (though there will be some non colour images too).
We are offering a chance for you to be in this publication – simply send your original unpublished artwork of any of our characters (horror images only) and we will select the best to go into print.
You can paint, draw, design how you want but it must be one or more of the Geeky Comics Characters, there are plenty to choose from – if you are not sure who to choose check out our website www.geekycomics.co.uk and www.facebook.com/geekycomics for more information. The characters are to be in a horror scene, so you could choose (for example) Jean Harvey from ‘The Lawless Ones’ and have her being chased by the Frankenstein Monster or Sgt Jackson from ‘Exposed’ fighting the Devil Children, the choice is yours. Your work does not have to be of just our published titles – it could be from one of the new upcoming ones such as T.E.A.L, Light of Darkness, Esmee or Bad Bedtime Stories. The woks can be in full colour or just inked – we will however only choose a colour image for the cover.
As an incentive we are offering £250 (Approx $380 USD) for the image selected to go on the cover, £150 (Approx $230 USD) for the first runner up and £100 (Approx $150 USD) for the second runner up. Each of these three winners will also have a full page biography about themselves and their work printed in the book. All other entrants published will receive a complimentary copy of the book.
Your work must be supplied with a paragraph of text about the image and a paragraph about yourself.
All entrants published will have direct links to their online portfolios and Facebook pages.
There is no guarantee your work will be accepted, but all entrants will be notified if we intend to print your work by the end of July 2013.
The deadline for your work to be with us (either digitally or traditionally) is 30th June 2013. We intend to print the publication in August and will then promote it via our website and social media pages. It will also be available to purchase at conventions, online and at participating book shops.
Please feel free to drop me any questions you may have vic@geekykid.co.uk – we look forward to seeing your masterpieces.
Make it scary!
Regards
Victor Wright
